Camels Forest of ghaf trees After good rains the area becomes incredibly green The groups of shady ghaf trees offer good places for picnic, camping or resting.
J's parents were here for holiday, so we decide to bring them to experience the off road in UAE and camping at Hatta mountain.
Since it was raining continuously for 3 day last week I'm sure there will be lots of water at the Wadi now We start our journey early in the morning around 6am
Beautiful sunrise We reach Hatta around 9am and had our breakfast at one of the restaurant nearby After breakfast, we visited the Hatta Dam and then continue our journey to Hatta Pool Instead of going to the same pool this time we decide to try another pool. On the way to the pool we pick up some fire wood which left by others. The road that will lead us to the plateau Wadi Hatta A challenging drive on this rolling track that leads to a plateau and then down a rocky track to a very scenic wadi A plateau with a steep-sided gorge Wadi Hatta with lot of water after rain We walked to the pool Crystal clear water Some locals do the dishes The rocky road we walked to the pool just now Back to the main route to our camp site Our camp site After having our early dinner we went out for further exploring at Wadi Ash Shiyah Small waterfall at Wadi Ash Shiyah Beautiful rock Sunset and time to go back to our camp site
The next main monument as we pass along the road into the heart of the city of Petra is The Theater up ahead on our left The Theatre dates from before the Roman Occupation of Petra, and could seat 7000 People. The Theatre is cut out of solid rock Carved rock caves just opposite The Theatre Local Bedouins Many Bedouin families still prefer to live in traditional style in cave houses A picture with the Bedouins Small outdoor coffee shops beside the craved rock cave
Continuing the visit after The Treasury, we proceed down the "Outer Siq" We saw camels we come next to the Street of Facades Tall, impressive tombs, with large facades or false faces on their fronts. The great wall of tombs on the right hand side leads up to the famous "Urn Tomb" A small collection of less impressive tombs on the left hand side
