Anonymous asked: What race are you?
1/32 Native American and I struggle every day in the face of oppression as a #proudwomanofcolor. That is how I get my insights for my comics. #racism
Anonymous asked: Is wearing basketball jersey a privilege only allowed of african americans? Because that is what your Miley paperdoll seems to imply.
No, and neither is wearing gold chains, snapbacks, nameplate necklaces, shrimp earrings, bandanas, or 2Pac shirts. I think everyone should be able to twerk as they please too. But when you’re a white millionaire who puts that all together into ridiculously contrived “hood” outfits every single day and an image that spontaneously appeared as you started recording your new album, and talk about how you want your music to “feel black,” and use “big butt homegirls” as props in your performances, collectively it’s pretty damn offensive.
But OK, you looked at the comic and read it as “White people can’t wear Michael Jordan jerseys.”
Every time I make a comic about race, I get tons of social justice warrior whites accusing me of being racist, exploitative, and co-opting experiences that aren’t mine to tell. I always wonder how these people can’t fathom the fact that I’d be anything other than lily white. You realize non-whites can draw too, right?

I don’t usually reblog, but this needs to be seen.
