~ Tuesday July 17th ~
It started off like any other day ... and when I say any other I am being oh so sarcastic !!!
On Monday night ( the night before) Barrett Linny I headed over to my Mom's for dinner.. When we opened the door we saw a very special 2 year old boy - Mr. Eliot ( my sister who lives in Ca. little boy ) and where there is an Eliot there is a Erinn ! My amazing sister few in with two kidos in tote to be there for Cora's induction , which was scheduled for Thursday the 19th. Yes I have the BEST sissy ever !! I love surprises ! With that info it brings us back to Tuesday, we had it all figured out pool day with the kids , snow cones , and something yummy for dinner. So Linny and I got up early packed our pool bag and headed out for the day. I dropped Linny off at my Mom's while I headed to the hospital for a weekly non-stress test. I get the hospital get all hooked up. I am getting myself all geared up for a day of laying out, letting that belly hang out and get its last bronzing session in for the summer, and laughing and chasing some kids at the pool.
That's when it all changed...
"Your fluids are low, you better head to the hospital.. now"
What !! I went over to my Moms to give everyone the news and give my Linny some loves. I headed home packed my hospital bag and Linny's stuff so she could have a slumber party with her Nana later that night. Barrett met me at the house just around noon and we were off. By 1:30 we were in our room got things unpacked and it was time to get things rolling ! When I got there I was at a 3 , they hooked me up to Pitocin and about a half hour later got my epidural I learned my lesson with Linny - get your epidural early !! No need to be brave .. So we waited around Barrett worked and I rested . After a few hours of upping the pitocin and getting checked ever hour or so I was at a 4 ! What the heck ! So I go into full Jeanine panic mode .. I'm going to end up with a C-section of my gosh bla bla bla the crazy thoughts are in full force. After upping the Pitocin to its max they let me hang for another hour. No change... Finally they broke my water .
This was just around 5:30 . My nurse checked me again 15 minuets later .. a 6 !! I told my mom and sister and they came over . At this point things start happening !! Another 15 -20 min my nurse was just about to get off her shift so she checked me again , we were at an 8 and I don't know if because I had had my epidural for so long but those contractions were coming hard and fast. within about 5 min .. I told my nurse to check me again cause "something had changed" . It was a distinct feeling to say the least.Sure enough, I was a 10 . They got on the phone to call Dr. Judd over and I sent Barrett out to find the man with the pain medication !! He came in, and put in the juice.. but it should take about 10 min to kick in . Just as Dr. Judd came in it started to work. 1 good contraction and 3 pushes .. Our Cora girl was here . Lots of hair , lovely as can be and sweet as heaven !

Cora is now three weeks old, we are all more in love with her than the day before. Linny is the best big sister ever! She is a champion nurser , and loves to sleep on my chest, which works well cause that's just where I want her. I took 2 years and 2 miscarriages to get this little angel here. And when they put her in my arms all of it was so worth it.. the waiting the sadness .. I'd do it all over and over to have that moment !
