Addie is SEVEN years old! Oh my goodness, I’m freaking out about it.
There's so much to say about Addie. She's just finishing 1st grade and she's had a great year. She makes friends easily and gets nothing but rave reviews and praise from her teacher. She's been in the lower groups for reading but has worked SO hard and it finally clicked. She can read grade level books now and it's really fun to see her finally enjoying reading. Apparently she loves to play tether ball at recess the most. She also loves tag and monkey bars. She wants to be an artist when she grows up and she has a deep-seeded fear of EVER moving out or living in any house in which her family doesn't also live. She like, gets anxiety even thinking about it and makes us promise that she can always live with us if she wants to, it's cute. She plans on going to UW and living with us until she dies I guess--which will probably actually be a necessity if she goes through with her plans of being an artist, lol.
She ADORES playing video games, minecraft and lego games being her favorites. She also loves to watch Mr. Stampy stream games online. She is super social and is pretty much not happy if a day passes that she doesn't get to play with her friends. Her best friends at school were Emma, Nika, Ashley, and Lexi. A home she plays with our neighbors Avery and Sidney. They fast became best friends when they moved in across the street.
She likes the idea of dolls but really only plays with them when other kids are around who want to; at which point she really enjoys playing make believe. She has really come into her own in soccer and is arguably the best on her team. She's still really tall for her age and luckily really likes being tall. She's a great bike rider and is happiest when she either gets to play video games or play outside with her friends.
Her favorite movies are Tangled and Harry Potter. We've been reading the Harry Potter books together at night and are just about to finish number 3. We don't let them watch the movie until we've read the book so it is SOOOO adorable to see her react to finding out parts of the plot. Oh man, I just love bonding over HP with my kids!
