  • 投票周期为10天，之后的投票将无效。

提名

如果您认为您已经找到或拍摄了一张可能符合标准的图像，并使用了适当的图像描述和版权标记许可，那么请按照如下步骤操作：

1. 按照括号内的格式（Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:提名图像名称.jpg）在下方的文本框输入图像名称，然后点击“创建新提名”按钮。

如果本次提名为第n次提名，请按照括号内的格式（Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:提名图像名称.jpg/2）展开操作。

所有的新图片集提名页面都应按照括号内的格式（Commons:Featured picture candidates/Set/My nomination）进行。

光暗度

在讨论图像的光暗度的时候，投票者有必要知道他们的屏幕显示有否被适当地调整。不同的屏幕显示，它们显示阴影细节的能力亦大有不同。旁边为一幅画了四个暗灰色的圆圈的图片。如果您能辨明其中三个（甚至四个）圈子，那表示你的的屏幕可以正确地显示阴影细节。如果你只能够看到三个以下的圈子，你可能需要调整你的屏幕以及/或者电脑显示设置。一些显示设备可能无法被调整至观察阴影细节的最理想度数，故此请在投票的时候考虑这点。如果可行的话，也可以考虑把它打印出来。

色彩度

在伽玛调整的屏幕显示上从几尺之外观看右图，图中四个不同颜色的圈子会自然混入背景之中。如果他们完全跟背景混合，你则须要调校你的伽玛设置（在电脑的输出设置上，而不在于屏幕显示），直到它们能彼此融合。调校的过程也许会非常困难，然而轻微的偏差并不是致命伤。未能更正的个人电脑显示通常会显示出比背景深色的圈子。请注意，在液晶显示（无论膝上电脑或者平面屏幕）上观看图片，你的观看角度有很大可能影响屏幕上的图像质素。如有需要，请点击图像以获得更多技术信息。

The rocky shores of the second Zagedan lake in a mountain cirque.
This is how the bare sunlight, obscured by fog and cloud, looks to the naked eye. The highlights, tone mapping and colors look natural to me. In fact, I suspect the colors might be a little oversaturated with this profile. The sky turned white, but I just checked and there is nothing to recover there, a big bright sunspot under fog covering most of the sky and only some irregular circular side patterns on the left, seemingly not coming from any cloud structure. It’s just dense, shadeless, formless cloud fog lit with diffuse sunlight in the valley behind the wall, with nothing to recover or reveal. --Argenberg (talk) 19:00, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Thank you Cmao20 for cross-referencing it to another entry. What I like about this picture is its mood and contemplative atmosphere. The other one is flashy, good for a quick glance or two. But this one is different and seems to captivate more if you take time. But it only works in dim environments. I looked at it again tonight, when everything around was dark and silent, and it again took me back to that late evening, lonely glacial cirque, with the sun fading and everything around rapidly getting darker and colder. With all the rocks and sediments of ancient geology, piled and scattered, huge and small, exposed and submerged, testimony to eons of erosion, weathering and terraforming, and the evening lake with its reflections on the surface, and the silence. I actually prefer this to the other for its soothing, meditative effect. Eye candy is one thing, soul is another.   • I can tell you that, even with no wind, bumble bees are extraordinarily difficult to capture like this. The focus-stacking software actually compensates for the flower moving in the wind or the photographer moving. The skill here is in capturing a moment when the bee was still.   • Note: You write under this photo (nothing special). I think this is an assumption. It should be: (I find nothing special about this photo). Another voter may look at this photo very differently. When I look at the photo, I see an economically written-off object that has been embraced by nature over the years. It has become one with the environment.   • I disagree with you. If a photo is clearly out of focus, then that is the case, because everyone can see that. If you find the photo (Nothing special), then that only applies to you and there may be other opinions about it. Then I think you should mention that it is (your opinion).   • "Out of focus" is a subjective opinion too. We all are individuals. Each person shares subjective reviews. Some people write "no wow", some people write "too ordinary", some people write "I miss something", etc. To help the photographers to face negative feelings, we usually write "sorry" as a courtesy formula. Here the subject looks like a standard pipe. These conventional objects are not rare in the countrysides of the world. The dead branches are not spectacular either. They make the composition cluttered. And I think the top-down view is not uncommon, sorry -- Basile Morin (talk) 07:43, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Only 1,772 × 2,819 pixels, the resolution is quite low, considering this section aims to select the finest pictures of the website. The subject itself is not spectacular. I believe there are a lot of similar covers on Commons in better conservation state. About the restoration, it has gone too far in my opinion, distorting the original document a little too much (even though the weird line has now been removed) -- Basile Morin (talk) 12:03, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
