Space Odyssey: The Video Game was a crowdfunded sandbox video game project with 4X elements developed by Space Media Ventures for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android systems, including virtual reality devices, anticipated for release in 2019. The game was being co-developed by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and would have had some educational aspects as the player designs and grows parts of a virtual galaxy. As of November 2021, the project appears dormant, with no new development updates since April 2020.
