November Favorites

A quick list of our November favorites. so I do forget anything!

Sewing. I spend quite a bit of time preparing handmade Christmas gifts. A lot of them are sewn, a lot of handi work. A good, uplifting use of my time.

Date nights with this cool guys. I love our date nights. We do anything from walking around  Fred Meyers to dinners out, to movies out, to staying at home playing board games.

Bobby finally fit into the cute blazer that belonged to Robert when he was little. Nana made it for Robert for his aunt's wedding.

We made eight pies for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was fun up a Nana and Papa's house!

We headed out to the cabin the day after Thanksgiving. Hannah invited her friend. We barely survived the below zero temperatures!

Hannah decided to try out for volleyball this year. She was so cute. This was her first time ever playing volleyball. She made one of the C teams and just had a real positive experience.

Birthday Sushi

Robert and I took Winnie out to Shine's Sushi for her Birthday dinner! We say at the bar and got the huge sushi boat. I don't know many 9-year-olds who request sushi for their birthday dinner!

Anniversary

Robert and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at the cabin. It was wonderful! We were there for 48 hours. ALONE! It was like heaven. I had some goals for our time there.

Spend some quality alone time with my husband.
Finish reading The Book of Mormon.
Read another entire book.
Hone my knitting skills.

I am happy to report that all of my goals were accomplished. I was renewed and refreshed and left more in love with my wonderful husband then ever. We prepared meals together, took long walks, watched movies, talked, knitted, listened to conference and just plain enjoyed each others company. He was so good. I know there was a million things that he wanted to do to work on the cabin and he did some of those, but mainly he did exactly what I wanted.

It was the perfect getaway. One of those "Tender Mercies" the Book of Mormon talks about. I am grateful for this wonderful life that I have.

I felt so blessed to wake up to this gorgeous view of Mt. McKinley.

Our perfect sunset at the end of a perfect day.

Exam

Good Times

My good friend, Catherine, moved to Oklahoma last year. I truly miss her. She is a good friend and someone who I admire tremendously.. She came up for a visit last month and we were able to spend some time with her. One of the things we did was and afternoon hike up into Arctic Valley.

Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year. Like every other season it is always a surprise what it will be like in Alaska. This year we had an amazing summer. Then the month of August it rained and into September. I was a little worried, but it cleared up and became a lovely Fall. It snowed on September 25th, but the rain washed it away the next day. It has been in the 50's and not freezing at night until recently. We are looking forward to a Halloween with no snow!

This is a photo on the way to Valdez.

We went up to Hatcher's Pass one Sunday after church.

California Vacation Day 5

ON our last day of vacation we just hung out at Hunnigton Beach. It was rather cool but we had a great time anyways.
