June 5: Pearce turns 3.
July 14: Start Potty training. (It would be so nice to have him out of diapers before the baby comes.
July 16: He just isn't getting it. 1st Attempt fails.
Aug. 20: Pearce potty trains himself and is doing great with no accidents.
Sept. 1: Edeliese is born.
Sept. 3: 1:30 P.M. I return from the hospital with the new baby.
Sept. 3: 2:15 P.M. Pearce wets his pants.
Sept. 10: 2nd Attempt has officially failed. Pearce is back in diapers. I just can't deal with the new baby, the sleep deprivation, and cleaning up the poopy messes (I have been throwing away perfectly good underwear.....I have the nose of a bloodhound and an extremely overdeveloped gag reflex.....not a good combination!)
Oct./Nov.: Every time I change his diaper I ask, "Do you want to start going on the potty?". He answers,
"Not yet.....Someday."
Nov. 24: Major poop blow out at the mall.....not the baby, the 3 1/2 year old. Eric and I decide this is beyond ridiculous.
Nov. 26: I decide "Someday" is going to be Today! NO MORE DIAPERS.
Big Boy Panties or Bust
(hey, he has a big sister)
I pull out all the stops. I use every bribe, every threat, every potty treat, every method I have ever read about or heard of anyone trying.
Dec. 13: Merry Christmas to us! 3 days without an accident.
I think he finally gets it. And I know that we will both likely need therapy at some point to get over this little thing they call, Potty Training.
