1st Birthday's and Broken Hearts

On September 1st my baby had her first birthday. Three weeks later she broke our hearts when she decided she was ready to be big and started walking. Slow down baby girl....Don't be in such a hurry to grow-up.

Please stay small just a little bit longer!

Nap Time.

MayMay came over to play today. After playing house and a little sliding down the stairs in the sleeping bag (A new favorite pastime at our house). Pearce came and informed me that MayMay was tired and they wanted to take a nap......
Never question a 3 year old when they ask to take a nap!!

***Apparently a 35 year old was talked into a nap as well.

We need a Biggo Cawwot!

Sara the Snowman.....I mean woman, joined our family on Saturday when RoWan and Pearce spent 2 hours building her completely on their own. They took a baby carrot (the only carrots we had) out for the nose. Pearce soon came knocking at the door and said in his cute little 3 year old voice...."We need a biggo cawwot!" You may be relieved to learn that the bunny droppings that they originally used as eyes have been replaced by blue paper circles.

Not yet......Someday

June 5: Pearce turns 3.

July 14: Start Potty training. (It would be so nice to have him out of diapers before the baby comes.

July 16: He just isn't getting it. 1st Attempt fails.

Aug. 20: Pearce potty trains himself and is doing great with no accidents.

Sept. 1: Edeliese is born.

Sept. 3: 1:30 P.M. I return from the hospital with the new baby.
Sept. 3: 2:15 P.M. Pearce wets his pants.

Sept. 10: 2nd Attempt has officially failed. Pearce is back in diapers. I just can't deal with the new baby, the sleep deprivation, and cleaning up the poopy messes (I have been throwing away perfectly good underwear.....I have the nose of a bloodhound and an extremely overdeveloped gag reflex.....not a good combination!)

Oct./Nov.: Every time I change his diaper I ask, "Do you want to start going on the potty?". He answers,
"Not yet.....Someday."

Nov. 24: Major poop blow out at the mall.....not the baby, the 3 1/2 year old. Eric and I decide this is beyond ridiculous.

Nov. 26: I decide "Someday" is going to be Today! NO MORE DIAPERS.

Big Boy Panties or Bust
(hey, he has a big sister)

I pull out all the stops. I use every bribe, every threat, every potty treat, every method I have ever read about or heard of anyone trying.

Dec. 13: Merry Christmas to us! 3 days without an accident.

I think he finally gets it. And I know that we will both likely need therapy at some point to get over this little thing they call, Potty Training.

Another little piece of Heaven!

Edeliese

September 1, 2010

7:03 P.M.

7 pounds 4 ounces

20 3/4 inches

The evening that we came home from the hospital RoWan was holding the baby and quietly talking to her. I watched and listened with a smile and a joyful heart as RoWan whispered,

"You are just how I wanted you".

All three.... "Just how I wanted you"!
