This north German city is also a hub for history as it homes the Oldenburg Palace that was used as residence up until 1918. The castle is now the city’s museum for art and history, which offers something for every taste from Medieval Manuscripts to art from the 20th Century.
As the city could be called a ‘student city,’ there is of course an array of bars and pubs that you can have a drink in after an extensive day of exploring the city. Similarly, you will not have any trouble finding a restaurant or café to eat in. Off the main high street there are many roads and alley’s where you can find both small, independent restaurants and famous chains – there is something for everyone’s taste.
