2011 Christmas Letter

It's been awhile since I've posted so I thought the perfect recap would be our family Christmas letter.

Dear Family and Friends,
What a year it’s been! We’ve been so very blessed this year and have had many adventures. I realize we didn’t write a letter last year so I’ll do a quick update! Our year 2010 started out with a huge blessing, our 3rd baby Brock was born at the beginning of Feb and we adore him. Josh graduated from dental school in May and we moved to Pueblo, Colorado where he is currently working as an associate in a dental office. We love living in Pueblo and love the people. We have made some great friends here. 2011 came, and it’s so hard to believe that it is almost over. This is our favorite time of the year. We love this time to celebrate the birth of our beloved Savior and are so very grateful for the blessings that have been poured out in our lives
Let’s start with Josh! He LOVES being a dentist, and his patients love him too. He is so kind and patient and everyone just loves him. He still loves to mountain bike and takes every opportunity he can to go. He has gotten into Jeeping with some of his buddies and has had a blast discovering the beautiful mountains Colorado has to offer. He loves adventure and the thrill of discovering new hobbies. Some big changes and blessings came in the middle of the year for us. We started thinking about owning our own practice, so we started looking around and after traveling around Colorado we found a practice that is perfect for our family. After much fasting and prayer we are in the process of buying a dental practice in Alamosa, Colorado. Alamosa is a very small town, but we are really excited about it and feel that it is a perfect place to raise our children and focus on our family! He will start at his own office at the beginning of the year. Alamosa is about 2 hours from where we are now, so I am staying with the children until June when school is over and the lease on our home is up. We will so look forward to his coming home on the weekends. Because he’ll be home on the weekends he’ll be able to keep his calling as the ward clerk. He has worked so hard this year and we are grateful for the opportunity to have this associate position. I’m so proud of him and love him so very much! It is with a heavy heart that we are leaving such great friends here in Pueblo, but feel that this is where the Lord is leading us.
As for me I have discovered that I really love to exercise. Who knew? Haha! I’ve discovered a lot about myself this past year and have decided that I have a dream of opening my own gym one day! Josh and I went to Moab, Utah in May for our anniversary and had a fantastic getaway; biking, Jeeping, horseback riding, white water rafting (which we have really come to love and gotten into) and a lot of hiking. We had a blast together, and I have loved our adventures together. I have been working with Josh on Fridays. I love working with him and seeing him interact with his patients. I have also discovered my crafty side and have loved learning how to sew and make other cute crafts. I stay busy with our children and I am in the Relief Society Presidency.

Paige turned 6 at the end of the summer! She is such a sweet girl filled with compassion and has such a big heart. She is in Gr. 1, she loves school and is just flying. She is very social and has a lot of friends and her teacher loves her. She loves to sing and dance and put on little shows. I see myself in her when I was her age and we love her so very much. She is a little fish and loves to swim. She also loves to shop, she is such a girl! She is such a happy little girl and brings so much joy to our lives. She loves her brothers and is really good with them.

Max turned 3 at the beginning of the summer. We adore Max so much; he is such a tender hearted little boy. He’s always worried about others’ feelings; he also looks at the best in everyone and is very complimentary. Even though he is very young, he makes you want to be a better person and we feel so very blessed to have him in our family. Max is just as adventurous as his dad. Josh takes him mountain biking all the time and Max loves it. Josh also takes Max in his Jeep in the mountains. They love their time together and Max adores his dad, which I love to see! He broke his arm this year but that didn’t slow him down one bit. He was still biking with his dad and still jumping and flipping. He always has a good attitude about any situation. He always has a smile on his face and loves to make other people laugh; he’s such a goofy and very witty buddy.

Brock will be 2 in February. He is awesome! I don’t even know how to describe him. He is so smart and can figure things out so fast! He is a very big boy and is only slightly smaller than Max (by 2 lb). We love to watch them wrestle because more times than not, Brock pins Max and we just laugh all the time because of him. Brock loves his siblings and always wants to be with them. He is so sweet and cuddly but does have a bit of a temper. He tries so hard to keep up with everyone and won’t let his size or age stop him from doing anything. He is a very determined kiddo. He had a severe anaphylactic reaction this summer to nuts and we almost lost him. We found out he is deathly allergic to tree nuts, he is also allergic to wheat, corn and eggs. Brock has a very special way about him, he has such a fantastic personality, and everyone who ever meets him just falls in love with him. He truly is an amazing little person and we just adore and cherish him.

As we approach the end of this year and the end of this chapter in our lives we are so thankful for the experiences we’ve had and all the blessings. We so look forward to the new adventures that await us in a new part of the state. We are so grateful for the love and friendship we have with you and hope that you have a fantastic Christmas and a very Happy New Year. May the Lord be with your family and bless you.

Moab Trip

Who the heck knows what happened here!
Josh and I went to Moab Utah with out the kids for 5 days and it was glorious. We hiked around fiery furnace and it was amazing. We played and played and played. It was so much fun and we can't wait to go again.
Here we are scaling the walls of rock in fiery furnace. There were no trails and so we had to crawl, climb, scoot, slide, jump and all other manner of fun.

We went horse back riding in the mountains. That was a lot of fun!

We haven't been horse back riding since we started dating, so it was a really fun memory

Of course we couldn't go to Moab with out going off roading

We drove up the mountain to this place called double bridges. It was quite the off roading trail but it was beautiful and fun to walk around on!

We hiked up to one of over 2000 arches in Arches National Park. This one is called delicate arch

When we got there, we saw all these people camped out with their crazy camera stuff and they yelled at anyone who go close to the arch as it got closer to sunset. It was quite funny!

You can see how huge it is

A national geographic photographer took this picture for us.

This one is called balancing rock

We also went biking and white water rafter. We loved every min of it. Well almost every min. I didn't love the mountain biking but Josh went several times and had a total blast. I'm sure glad that he loves it! It was beautiful and amazing and so good to be with just him.

Women On Target

Over this past weekend I went with a friend to learn how to shoot all kinds of guns. Here I'm learning a cross bow just in case I get selected to play in the hunger games.

Shooting clay pigeons with a big shotgun and I even hit one.
There were other guns too and it was an 8 hour day of learning different guns and rifles. I had a blast, literally;0)

School Carnival

Paige had a little carnival at her school last week. They had tons of games and prizes and food, we had a lot of fun. Max won 3 times at the cake walk and the kids won 2 bottles of pop at the ring toss, they were trilled with their winnings and LOVED playing all the games. This one was their favorite.

Brock just loved the suckers
Max called this one the Hockey game, notice how they all have suckers in their faces

Easter

The cute kiddos, trying to get them to hold still, well it just doesn't happen. I love it that way though because it shows who they are. I love these kids

He looks so thrilled with his find eh?
Her stash and very happy

I love the running, he doesn't walk anywhere

Disney on Ice

Paige and I had a mommy/daughter date to Disney on ice. She LOVED it! She dressed up as Snow White and was so excited about the whole thing. I loved taking her to this because I grew up going to the Ice Capades every year. I loved it too!
All 7 princesses and their princes close to the end of the show
The guards from Cinderella

She is so silly and was so much fun to be with

4 of the 7 princesses
I don't think she liked it that much, do you?

13 months

These are just too cute to pass up. I can't believe how fast his life is going. He's 13 months already and getting so big. He's standing all on his own and cruising all over the place. Still not walking but so very happy.
This is his favorite stance to sit in. We love this kid so much, we just can't get enough of him.
