October 2010

We had a fun-filled and crazy month of October! A few weeks ago, we went to the "World's Largest Halloween Party" at the zoo. It was so much fun. They had lots of different characters dressed up and themes all over the zoo, with Trick or Treating all along the way. We went with a few friends and the boys had a blast running around with their friends. For that Trick or treating, we all dressed up in Toy Story theme. Lance as Woody, me as Jesse, Parker was Buzz Lightyear, Kaeson as Stinky Pete the Prospector, and Macie as Little Bo Peep. After putting in all the work to get us all in matching costumes, and going out in them, I realized it was as good an idea as it seemed! Kaeson's beard wouldn't stay on, and Macie's Little Bo Peep costume really didn't read so well, and it was a pain to carry her around in.

Lance and I went to a fun Halloween Party with friends and dressed as Woody and Jessie again. We need to be more creative in the future! There were some amazing and creative costumes at the party and we were so boring. Oh well. We went to the ward party all dressed as Toy Story again. We came home from the trunk or treat with more candy than we know what to do with. The next day, I remembered we had Parker's old Monkey costume in storage and dug it out for Kaeson. Kaeson loved it! He immediately put it on and wore it the rest of the morning around the house. Some friends loaned us a pink butterfly costume for Macie and she looked adorable in it of course! We should have just gone with those costumes to begin with!

Lance had a golf scramble the day before Halloween, so I braved it on my own with the kids, and we all went trick or treating Saturday morning at Brown Park. It was SOOOOO crowded! I was not anticipating the crowd or the hour long line! Luckily we ran into good friends and spent the long wait with them. The kids loved it and walked away with even more candy! Then we went real trick or treating again at night. I have never seen so much candy in my life!!!

In between all the trick or treating, we had family pictures taken by a friend who is an AMAZING photographer! We also went to friends' and carved pumpkins, made delicious caramel apples, carved pumpkins again, and made Dinner in a Pumpkin, as well as enjoyed the most beautiful fall weather possible. October has been so fun! I've decided it just might be my favorite month!

Pig Tails

So the other day, I decided to play around with Macie's hair, and I quickly discovered that she actually has enough hair to put it in an adorable little pig tail. I LOVE it!! I was surprise at how much hair I could fit in there. It turned out so cute. I'm in need of a little more practice at fixing girl's hair, but hopefully I will get better. I did a pig tail once during the week last week, and then decided to do it again for church on Sunday. I'm pretty sure it will make her hair fall out so I am not going to do it again for a while, but man she sure looked cute. It's hard to capture in the photos, but here are a few.

Here's a few of the top so you can see the pig tails.

She sure looks cute!

Believe It or Not!

Last week Lance had fall break, so we headed south with some friends to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is a way cool resort town at the foot of the Smoky Mountains. The area is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. Unfortunately, it was a pretty quick trip and we didn't get to experience near as much of the area as we would have liked. There is tons of shopping, sight-seeing, and hiking that we really want to go back and enjoy sometime. We were, however, able to take the kids to Ripley's Aquarium while we were there. It was amazing!!!! And the boys absolutely loved it! We all stayed in an awesome 5 bedroom cabin equipped with a theater room, hot tub, arcade games, foosball, and air hockey. I am sad to report that I didn't take a single picture while we were there other than at the aquarium.

3 Months

Macie is actually now 3 1/2 months by now, but I'm a little behind on blogging. She is such a great baby. She is full of smiles, starting to giggle, coo, and squeal more and more. She loves to watch the boys play, and they both still adore her. She still sleeps between 5 and 8 hours straight at night. Not great, but I can't complain; it could be so much worse. She catnaps all morning most of the time. We are usually doing a lot of running around in the mornings, dropping Parker off at school, grocery shopping, going to the Y, so she doesn't often get a great morning nap. She also hates her car seat and screams 90% of the time she is in it! She is such a good and happy baby the rest of the time, just don't put her in her car seat and life is great! Most days she takes a great afternoon nap, usually 3 1/2 to 4 hours long, and then another short evening nap. And, of course, she is the most adorable 3 month old baby girl you've ever seen!

Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See?

I see an Orange Tiger looking at me.

Orange Tiger, Orange Tiger, what do you see?
I see a white dog looking at me.

Sorry about the sideways pictures. I've tried FOUR times to rotate them, and they always end up downloading sideways!

Our stake had a fall festival last Saturday and there was a face painting booth. Parker wanted his face painted, and as you can see, he went all out with a full face tiger! And of course, if Parker does it, Kaeson has to do it too. I think they are the cutest little animals ever!

2 Months

I know I have been terrible about updating with pictures of my beautiful baby! Our internet is not the best and every time I try, I am not met with success, but finally it is back! Macie turned two months a while ago, but better late than never, I guess. She has started smiling almost constantly, and even laughed a tiny bit a few times. She really likes being held but is starting to sit happily in her bumbo chair for a few minutes here and there. She has decided that she only needs sleep every other day as of late, so we are working on that. She usually takes at least one good nap a day, but the rest are pretty unpredictable. We are on the go all day long so I think it's hard for her to get into a good napping routine. She was sleeping through the night a couple of weeks ago, but lately she only sleeps like 5 to 7 hour stretches. Her hair continues to turn more and more red as she gets older. It's a mystery as to where the red hair came from! She is beautiful and such a delight to have around. The boys still love her and are constantly in her face. Parker gets mad at me for putting her to sleep because then he can't play with her. I often catch him sitting next to her singing to her. It's so cute! They both get so excited every time she smiles at them-which is often- and say, "I think she likes me Mom, she smiled at me."
