Ski Buddies

I've been waiting many, many years for someone to ski with me.   Finally, this winter, Aluce agreed to learn.  She had so much fun the first two times I took her out, Seth wanted to try it too.  They both are begging for season passes next year!

I was holding Amelia after she fell off the piano bench and BOTH twins were crying, I said "Evelyn, Amelia is crying because she fell and got hurt. Why are you crying?"  

Evelyn replied, "I'm crying because I DIDN'T get hurt!"

January

 I had a bad case of the Januarys this year.  Its not anything a Caribbean cruise won't cure.  It was a stinky month for all of us because Michael had to study non-stop for his board exams.  That left me the sole care-giver for a bunch of busy kids and a pair of toilet-training two year olds.  It was lovely.

I ate a lot of chocolate.

Michael is on his way home now from his exam (he had to take it in Texas) and my fingers are crossed that all will soon be right with the world again!

Thrift

I took Alice with me to the DI the other day, and scored this giant heavy antique mirror for $10. It was covered in at least 20 years worth of dust.  I was super excited, but Alice got really freaked out by the DI. I think that all the old scary, giant-eyed porcelain dolls got to her. She kept whispering to me, "Why would anyone WANT any of this stuff? This place is creepy."

She swears she's never going back.

Evelyn came and grabbed a cracker off my plate. When I protested, she said, "Mom, you hafta say "Swiper no swiping!""  

I promise they don't watch too much TV. 

Twinners

When I asked Evelyn what she was going to say when Santa asked what she wants for Christmas, she replied "Trick or treat!"  I tried to explain that Santa was going to bring her a present, and asked what she wanted, she looked at me like I was dense. "Candy," was her answer.

We were at stake conference in the tabernacle Sunday, and Michael filled some baggies with Kix to keep the twins happy during the two hour meeting. We regretted this move when Amelia sneezed a mouthful of them all over the shoulder of the gentleman sitting in front of us.
