6 week update

Here it is!

The exterior of our home is finished. They are finishing painting the basement and then will be sanding the floors upstairs. After the floors are done they will bring in the cabinets, and do the lighting. After that carpet and doors. Next the cleaning crew comes in, inspection and walk through, then we can move in.

It has been a long time coming, but the end is near and our excitement is overflowing.

See You Later Grandma

Today I attended the very special celebration of my grandmother's life. It brings me so much peace to know where my grandma is and who is with her. She is now enjoing the sweet reunion of the loved ones who have gone before her. She is no doubt side by side with the love of her life my grandpa who died almost ten years ago. This has been a difficult seperation for grandma she and my grandpa were madly in love. They enjoyed doing so many things together, especially with good friends and their family. I know that my grandma missed her eternal companion everyday, but she was strong and never forgot the importance of living her life and preparing herself for the time that they would once again be reunited.

My grandmother was a wonderful example of love and compassion. She was loved for her ability to cheer you up and let you know that life is good. She was always smiling and she loved her kisses. She would kiss you right on the mouth, and if you moved she would say, "I missed" and do it again. For some, this is a little close, but grandma didn't care you didn't leave her house without a kiss, a tight squeeze, and a gentle whisper of love in your ear.

My grandma holds a very special place in my heart for so many reasons. However there was one time in my life when I truely needed her strength. She sat by my side everyday while I was in the hospital after my appendix ruptured. The doctors said the infection was too powerful but grandma would whisper in my ear to be strong and not give up..."you can beat this" she would say. Even when the drugs were so intense and I was barely conscious I knew she was with me. I also knew that she was praying constantly to our Heavenly Father to make me whole, and he did.

My grandma has been a true example of a Christ-like person in everyway. She served faithfully in her many church callings. Grandma and grandpa served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple and together they served faithfully in the Manila, Phillipines Mission.

I am so grateful for the influence of my grandmother. I am also so thankful that my children were able to know this very special women. I look forward to the day that I too can be with her again.

I love you grandma....I will see you later

Our House On HOLD

Well since there isn't too much to show and tell this will be short and sweet. Just a little update. Our House is on HOLD because there is another family building and by conditions of their loan (FHA) they absolutely have to be finished, ready to close by April 1st. So, while we sit and wait while their house is being framed...yes I said framed. There has been nothing significant done with ours... BOO. I can be patient, but come on, our financing was finished first, our hole was dug first and now we sit. We have been told that in less than 2 weeks they will start the framing and go at it full force. At least that is something.
I will be patient...
I will be patient...
BUT Hurry up!!!

Sorry I left you all Hanging...

...continued.
We purchased a lot and are now in the process of building.
The last 4 weeks have been crazy. So many decisions to make. Thankfully it has been mostly painless, and surprisingly really fun. Nate pretty much let me chose colors, design, and our exterior, so ladies miracles do happen.

We broke ground on Monday after the removal of ALOT of snow. I'm no expert, but it seems to me that things are moving along nicely. All the decisions for the exterior and interior are made except for lighting which is after the framing is up, so I have time to think it over.
From the beginning everyone was telling us don't build, it's a headache, etc. Some individuals who obviously don't know us well said that it is hard on your marriage. I think just the opposite really. Planning our future home together has been such a joy, and quite frankly a relationship builder. Looking to the future it is so easy to picture the next 10 or 20 years down the road. I'm so excited for this new chapter in our lives. The girls even phrase their sentences "when we move into our home..." OUR HOME I love the sound of that and I can't wait.
