My Life as a Zucchini: Claude Barras

Ever since I heard of Claude Barras' My Life as a Zucchini, I've been fascinated by what a movie with such a title could be about. As it turns out: orphans and child abuse. Not what I would've expected from a colorful claymation movie. Curious, then, that the movie comes out quite wonderfully. The juxtaposition between subject matter, art style, and the different tones of grief, misery, and joy blend quite well. I do wish it was a bit longer, though. But the vignette storytelling helped compensate.
