Doctrine & Covenants Review - Pep Rally & Snowball Dance Invite

 This week I've taught seminary 3 times.  Today was a review on what we've learned in the Doctrine & Covenants so far.  I decided to split the class into two groups and let them go ham on the board with what they remembered and learned.  Everyone in the group had to contribute 2 things.  

It looks impressive.  I think my favorite is "Lucy was a booty", this is referring to Lucy Harris.  She was kind of a pain and caused a lot of problems for her husband, Joseph Smith and all the saints.  So yeah, she kinda was a booty!

Malena had a pep rally today.  She snapped this shot.  I think it is kinda cool.

And tomorrow is the dance.  She's worked really hard on this.  It will be fabulous.

Puffer Fish - Dance Decor - Walk

This morning I was able to go on a walk with my friend Krista.

We went close to the mountains so we had a very nice view of our brown valley.

It was a nice walk.

Amy is about ready to put her puffer fish in the kiln.

I like the flower.  It's super cute.

Malena has spent the week finalizing and working on all the dance decor!

1 walk, 1 hike & Someone else's homework

My friend Tammy is leaving on Friday to go to Boston.  So today was the only day she could walk with me.  So we walked early this morning at 7:30am.  At 10:30 am, I met up with these ladies to hike up Prison Hill.  

These are some great women and it is fun to hike and chat with them.  It was a beautiful day and even warm enough, I had to take off my jacket.

After school Malena started working on some "Rock Art".

I asked her what it was for and she said, "It's for Nathan's homework, or something."

I hope she got an A!

Trader Joes & Reno

 Today I felt like I spent a LOT of time in the car.

Reviewing - I DID!

First I went to Seminary.  Taught my class and then Amy told me that her present for her friend Taylor she left at home by accident.  Oh, and by the way, she also wanted to give her some Scandinavian swimmers from TJs.

After seminary, I took care of all those errands.

After a short stop at home, I got back into the car and headed up to Reno.

I had this house sight I needed to take pictures of.  This job is quite frustrating to me.  I can see the house site from the road, but there isn't an exit for about 3 miles.  It takes 15 minutes to drive around the mountain to get to it.

Monday, Monday

Monday means it is Malena work day.

Church Cancelled!

 Today we woke up to a little dusting of snow.  It's was less than an 1" for sure.  However, it was supposed to continue to snow and not get above 30 degrees.  The roads down south looked sketchy and all the Walker branch counsel members said it would be best to cancel.

So Walker Branch was cancelled.  We could still go to Pinon Hills ward.  So Dave and I went back to bed, cause it was only 8am.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, we slept in until 10:55am.   We missed Pinon Hills Ward - oops.

Well, we did get to talk to Carly and she had a fun day.  She went to a Cathedral.  It wasn't open but they enjoyed taking pictures outside.

And apparently, they have a McDonald's on New Caledonia as well.

Snow in Provo & Posing

Apparently, someone is getting snow!

It's not in NEVADA!  Must be Utah.  And we know how much Nathan loves snow!

Malena had to work today, so Amy was stuck at home with Mom & Dad.

It's all good, we got some snuggle time.

The weather was pretty yucky.  Just really windy and cold.

We did a little work in the yard, but the weather was not fun.  SUPER DUPER COLD!

Dave is eyeballing if we need to tak dirt out for the sidewalk area.

Rocket - Glasses - Tractor - Sisters

This morning as we drove to seminary we saw the strangest sight in the sky!

Luckily Malena grabbed this pic.  We believe it is Elon Musk's rocket.  It blasted off this morning.  Who knew we could see it here in Nevada.  Crazy stuff!

Today we got a package in the mail.  We've waited a week for.

Malena's new Zenni glasses.  They were super cheap and we can afford that!

She is super cute!

Dave came home from work and got the tractor out.  We need to dig down to get ready for cement.  So he and I worked together and did a pretty good job!

Now, the toughest part. . . getting contractors to come quote us a bid.

This is her companion and the other two sisters that live in their apartment.  Kinda sad, cause we just found out today that the other two sisters were reassigned and Sister Clegg and Carly are alone in their house now.

Side note . . . mainly for reference:

Went to the temple today and the distribution center was open, so I went in.  It's been open since beginning of December, but this was the first time I was able to get there.  It is small but it is so nice to have this resource!

Seminary and Dance Prep

Today I taught seminary and it was a life preperation lesson. I got to teach about emotional resilience.  It was an amazing lesson.  It talked about how Christ experienced many mortal life experiences, just like we do.  He also experienced more in Gethsemane.  So we truly are never alone in how we feel.  To become resilient we need to look to Christ.  

Jesus had angels attend him, and so do we!

Next week is Winter Fest and the Snowball dance.  Malena is in charge of decorations for the dance.  She has done a great job.  This is one of the sketches for the gym.

It's going to look great!

Zone Conference

 Today is Zone Conference for Carly.  No one else had pics from today, so she gets all the attention!

There are all the sisters and Sister Ball, to the left of Carly.
