Little Update

Here's a little update on what's been going on with us. I'm not going to have any pictures because I left my camera at my in-laws on Christmas and it's still there. As soon as I get it back I will post the pics.

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house and had a delicious turkey dinner. It was fun to hang out for the night, eat good food and just visit with each other. Christmas day was spent and Nic's mom and dads house. We had a really yummy, huge breakfast and spent the day playing games and eating, and eating, and eating. It was lots of fun and very relaxing. I love this time of year because it brings everyone together.

Baby update....I went in to my doc today and had my 38 week check up. I'm not dilated or effaced at all. We were a little bummed to hear that because we are so anxious to see this little guy, but we know he will be here before we know it. My actual due date is Jan. 13th but Dr. Judd says that by what he can see and with his experience, he thinks the little guy will be here around the 17th or 18th. So we will see what happens.

I'm still working at the spa doing massage. My last day is next Saturday and I am SO looking forward to that day. Nic got a new job with an energy drink company call Evo energy and he is the Utah County sales rep. for them. He's loving it so far so hopefully it turns out to be a great thing. We are both doing really good and really can't complain about anything. Life is good!!!

Nixon's Room

I'm finally posting these pictures of Nixon's room. Nic and I had fun doing it together. We of course had to do a sports theme. I made these letters of his name and Nic did the dresser. He built it out of oak in wood shop in high school, and we don't use it, so we thought we could just paint it and put new handles and put it to use. I LOVE how it turned out! He did a great job!!
Here's his crib. I love love love it!! (I still have a couple more things to put up on the shelf.)

And this would be his closet. He's already a spoiled boy! And our stash of diapers and wipes. I know we are going to be going through these fast!
And here's the recliner that I know i'm going to be spending many nights in. We decided to get a recliner rather than a glider because they are cheaper and more comfortable. I love it all!!! I can't wait to be able to really put this room to use.

36 weeks & Christmas Lights

Here I am at 36 weeks!!! Holy crap I can't believe that I only have 4 weeks to go. 4 weeks!!! He seriously could be here anytime now. I'm still feeling really good. I get uncomfortable at night when I'm trying to sleep, but other than that, I have nothing to complain about. He is still moving around like crazy. If this is a sign of things to come, then we are definitely going to have an active little boy and have our hands full. We are so excited and so anxious for him to get here. I can't wait to see what he looks like and just can't wait to hold him. We are definitely blessed to have had such an easy and smooth pregnancy. Hopefully the labor will be the same. I'm not going to lie, but I am really nervous and scared for labor. I know it will all be OK, but I'm just such a wuss and have no pain tolerance. So I'm all about getting drugged up. HAHA!
This past Friday night we went out with our good friends Jeff and CharLee. We went to dinner and then were planning on going to temple square to look at the lights but decided it was too cold. So we figured something else out. After dinner the guys wanted to stop at Best Buy really quick. Well really quick turned into about and hour and a half. CharLee and I ended up playing Guitar Hero forever and the guys were playing some basketball game while we were there. Yes, I know it's a little geeky, but we had tons of fun. After Best Buy, we just drove around and looked at lights. We found this house in Lindon that had a light show that went along to music. It was the coolest thing ever! We turned our radio to a certain station, and the lights went along with the music on the radio. It was very impressive!

The light show was on the side of the persons house. This is the front of the same house. It seriously looks like a castle. I loved the lights and the whole manger set up and everything. It's amazing how far people go for the holidays. It's definitely the best time of year. I love all the time spent with friends and family and all the yummy food. It's such a blessing to be able to live so close to all of our family and to have so many good friends. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season!!! (and thanks Jeff and Char for such a fun, random night!)
I tried to upload a video I took of the light show, but it didn't work. Sorry!

34 Weeks & Baby Showers

So here I am at 34 weeks. I am feeling great and am getting very excited and very anxious for little Nixon to come. He moves around like crazy still and is definitely getting big. I had an ultrasound last week and the Doc. said he weighs 5 lbs. 2 oz. already and is measuring about a week and a half ahead of his due date. He said that doesn't change my due date, it just means he's a healthy big boy, and we couldn't be happier about that. It was fun to see him for a second time. Nic and I are both very excited and anxious for him to get here. We both can't believe that we only have 6 weeks left!

I have had 2 baby showers already and I can't thank everyone enough for coming and for everyone's generosity. One was thrown by my friend Jennie and the other was the Huish side of the family and the Warren/Stoddard families. I got a TON of stuff!!! It was so fun to have everyone get together and just hang out. It's amazing how generous people are. Nic and I are SO SO SO thankful for all the fun gifts that we got.
Here's our stroller!! This was given to us by the Warren and Stoddard (Nic's both sides of families) families. I had no idea they all got together and did this for us. I was SO excited and SO thankful!!!

Here are piles of gifts we got. We still haven't unpacked everything and gotten it all organized so it's all in his room in piles. We're hoping to get it all done this weekend. Thank you to everyone for all of this fun stuff!!!!

Here's a picture of his crib. We absolutely love it and can't wait for him to be in it. The picture in the crib was given to us by my mom and we absolutely love it. (click on the picture so you can see it bigger) As you can see, we painted his room red and tan. We are doing a sports theme and still have to put up a border and do a few more things. We are slowly getting there and hope to be done with it this weekend!
As you can all tell, Nic and I are VERY excited for this little guy to come. And once again, thank you to everyone for all the fun stuff we got and for all the love and support. We love you all!!!

...Sneak Peek...

Here's a sneak peek of pictures Nic and I took this Saturday.

This is me at 32 weeks!!! I can't believe that I only have 8 more to go. It's going by SO freakin fast, and I know the time is going to fly by because of the holidays and everything going on. Baby Nixon is moving like crazy. If I'm awake, then so is he. It's been a lot of fun to feel him and it just makes us more anxious for him to come. We can't wait to see what he looks like, to see what his personality is going to be like, and most of all we can't wait for him to become a part of our family. We are getting his room done, so as soon as it's finished, I will post some pics. Nic surprised me today and had the crib set up when I got home from work. I LOVE it and him!!
Here's another sneak peek of the pictures we took. Our friend Lauren took them. She is absolutely amazing and her prices are very reasonable. Check out her blog at http://www.laurenweekley.blogspot.com/.

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! We didn't do much this Halloween. We dressed up for that party last weekend, so we just took it easy tonight. Here is Emmi in her witch costume that my Sis. in law gave us. Emmi absolutely hated wearing it, but it was SO cute. HAHA!
Here I am at 30 weeks!!! I can't believe I only have 10 more to go. SO crazy!! Nic and I got Nixon's crib tonight and bought the paint for his room. I'm so excited and anxious to get started on it so we can get it all done and ready. He is definitely an active baby. I seriously feel him all day every day. If this is a sign of things to come, then we are definitely going to have our hands full. Nic and I are both really, really excited for him to come. We can't wait to hold him and can't wait to see what he looks like. I have been feeling great and am still working full time. I really can't complain. Life is great right now!!

Groovy Baby

This past Friday, our friends Jeff and CharLee had a Halloween party and the theme was celebrity couples. Nic was supposed to be out of town, so I didn't think about anything all week. Well, Thursday night Nic called and told me they had finished their job early and that he would be home Friday afternoon so we could go to their party. I was scrambling for a costume. I found my costume and thought it would be fun for Nic to be Austin Powers and I would be his sidekick. When Nic first put the costume on, I was laughing hysterically and couldn't stop. It was so funny. We had a lot of fun at the party. I loved that he was such a good sport about the whole thing. It made it a lot more fun. And thank you Jeff and Char for the fun party!!!!

28 weeks = 7 months!!!!!

Here I am at 28 weeks. I can't believe that I am 7 months pregnant already! It is going by so fast!! I'm sure it's due to the fact that we have been so busy with moving and work and everything else. Baby Nixon is definitely an active baby. He is constantly moving around in there. Nic says that he's practicing his baseball swing and getting his pitching arm ready. Haha! At my last doctor's appointment, it took the nurse forever to find his heartbeat because the only sound we could hear was him moving around. It was so funny!! I'm feeling really good and have nothing to complain about. We are both getting really excited. I still feel like I have a lot to do, but I'm sure that's normal. We are completely moved in now, so I'm getting really anxious and excited to start his nursery. I know exactly what I am going to do, and I can't wait to get it done. We have a lot going on right now, but things are great and life is good!!!!

Colby is 3!!!!!

Our cute little nephew Colby just turned 3!! We can't believe he is getting so big. It's crazy how fast time flies. We had a fun birthday party for him at fat cats. It was so much fun to see the little ones bowling. Of course, the guys beat us girls, but we had a great time.

Here's a picture of our nephews Riley and Colby and our niece Maddi. They were so good at bowling. We were definitely all impressed!
On a side note...Nic and I just bought a new townhome. That's the main reason I have been so bad at blogging lately. We're kinda busy getting moved in and getting everything unpacked and decorated. As soon as we are completely settled, I will post pictures. We love the place!!!!!

Nic's Buck!!!

I have been a huge slacker lately, but we have been super super busy. Here is a picture of Nic with the buck that he got when we went huntinng a couple of weeks ago. He had a blast and absolutely loved it. He was gone with his dad for about a week and loved every minute of it. He was very excited about the buck that he got. When he got home, he was like a little kid that just got home from disneyland. It was a well deserved trip for him after how hard he worked all summer. I missed him, but I know that it was a break that he needed!!

I'm a Hunter's Wife

So not too much has been going on with us lately, especially considereing Nic has been gone for majority of the last 2 1/2 weeks. He left two Mondays ago to go work in Reno on a job with his brother and he got back that Friday. He was then home until the following Thursday and he left that morning to go on a hunting trip with his dad (this pic is of his dad-just a random one I found) and he won't be back til at least this Thursday. So I'm on my own til then. I know he's loving being out there right now, and he definitely deserves it because of how hard he works. I just get bored when he's gone. But hopefully he'll come back with one of these pictures of his own with his own deer that he killed that I can post!!

23 weeks

Here I am at 23 weeks. I can't believe that i'm almost 6 months pregnant. It's going by so fast. I am loving every moment of being pregnant right now. I am able to feel him move all the time now, expecially at night. Nic has also been able to feel him. He was so excited. So now every night Nic tries to feel him. Last night, baby was moving around like crazy so I was watching my stomach to see if I could see it move and it was moving so much. Nic and I thought it was so cool that we could actually see him moving. Things are so exciting right now!!!

Weekend Getaway

Since I had this weekend off because of the fire at work, Nic and I had a little getaway. Saturday night we went with our friends Jason and Kelli up to their cabin above Heber. We had a ton of fun up in the mountains. We made the best dinner ever that consisted of grilled steak, grilled pineapple, grilled asparagus, pasta and a great salad. For dessert, of course we made smores.

Here and Kelli and I just hangin out.
My favorite thing is burnt marshmallows. I know it sounds weird, but I love just a plain marshmallow totally burnt. So yummy!!

Nic is definitely the king of making smores. He's very picky about the way he makes them, but they are by far the best smores I have ever had. Here he is melting the chocolate and roasting a marshmallow.

And here he is with the finished product!!! Delicious!

We definitely over did ourselves with the smores and marshmallows, but it was so worth it. We finished off the night watching the movie "What Happens in Vegas." It is absolutely hilarious! We woke up Sunday morning and drove up to Echo Reservoir and met up with our friends Jennie and Evan. We spent the day with them boating and just chillin out on the lake. (I forgot to take pictures) The water was absolutely FREEZING, but we had a blast hanging out with them.
It was so nice to get away for a couple days and spend time up in the mountains together. That's what I love about Utah summers. Thanks guys for the great weekend!!!

Fire at Work!!!

So today at work we had quite the exciting day. We have a huge commercial dryer for all of our laundry in our break room that caught on fire. At first it was just smoking but then it bursted out in flames. One of the girls used both fire extinguishers that we have and they didn't do anything. After about 10 min. of waiting for the fire department, they finally showed up.

While all this was happening, I was getting my hair done. I had just started getting the color applicated to my hair when we had to evacuate the building. So Vanessa (the girl doing my hair) thought she'd just keep doing it outside. I was fine with it because I really needed to get my hair done. She continued doing my hair outside when they told us that we wouldn't be able to go back inside. So, we weren't able to finish my hair, and I had to go home with color in my hair and wash it myself. Haha! It was pretty funny to see people's reactions when they saw her doing my hair outside.
Here are Suzy, Helle, me and Megan just hanging out outside waiting to see what was going on.

There were 3 fire trucks and 1 ambulance that showed up. It was definitely quite the experience. There wasn't a ton of fire damage, but there is a lot of smoke damage and a lot of water damage done to the spa. As of right now, we are going to be closed until at least Monday. What a crazy day!!!

21 weeks!

I know I have been a huge slacker at blogging. Things have been pretty busy with us lately. Here's an updated pic of me at 21 weeks. I'm still not that big. I can wear all my normal jeans and everything. I can't believe how fast it's flying. Nic thinks it's going really slow, but I know he will be here sooner than we know. Here's a little update on what's been happening with us. We got back to Utah on the 11th of this month, and I went back to work the 14th at the spa. It's been really nice to be back at work. The only thing I've found to be hard so far is that I have to use the bathroom a lot, so sometimes I will tell my client that I need to step out in the middle of a massage. Haha! Oh well. Other than that, I have been feeling really good and have all my energy back. Nic is working with his brother laying tile. They have been really busy but he's lovin it. We are looking for a place to live still, and in the mean time, we are in my parents basement. We are so happy to be back in Utah with all our family and friends!

It's a BOY!!!!

I had my first ultrasound today and we couldn't be happier! We found out that we are having a boy! I thought I could see his little part so I asked the Doc. before he said anything and he said "nothing is 100% but it definitely looks like he has outdoor plumbing." And from that point on, the doc called it his outdoor plumbing every time he saw it. It was pretty funny! Nic and I are so so so excited. Nic was surprised at how excited I was to be having a boy. It's going to be so much fun watching him grow up. We are both so excited to be parents pretty soon. We know we will probably have a wild one on our hands, but we can't wait! Nic's excited to have a hunting buddy and a little buddy to play catch with. I'm excited to have a mama's boy!

2 Years!!!!

August 5th was our 2 year anniversary. Neither of us can believe how fast the time has gone by. It still seems like our wedding day was not very long ago. These past two years have definitely been the best 2 years of our lives. We have had so much fun together and are so excited for the many years to come. I have the best husband ever and couldn't ask for anything more. He makes me laugh every day and makes me want to be a better person. Thank you babe for all that you do. I am SO excited for our new little addition. I can't wait for you to be a daddy. Love ya tons!!!!!

Slacker

I have totally neglected my blog and have really been slacking so here's a little update on what's going on...

Nic bought me a ticket for my birthday to fly home for a week. I was so happy because I had been getting really home sick. I had a lot of fun while I was there. I got to go to lunch with a few of my girlfriends. It was fun to catch up and see them. I really enjoyed spending time with my family and with Nic's family. I got glitter toe's done with Kelli and her mom. I was able to go to Jason and Kelli's wedding which was absolutely beautiful. I had a great time and am so thankful to Nic for flying me home. And I didn't even take one picture while I was there....oops!

This past Monday, Nic and I drove down to San Diego to meet up with Josh, Meghan, and the kids. We spent the day at Sea World and absolutely loved it. We had so much fun with them. It was so fun to see how excited the kids got seeing all the animals. We were really glad that we were able to spend time with Josh and Meg. I did take pictures, but I left my camera in Meg's purse so I won't be able to post any pics for a couple of weeks.

I'm 17 weeks pregnant now. I'm finally over the sickness and am now able to enjoy being pregnant. Nic and I get to find out what we're having next week Thursday. We are SO excited and can't wait to find out if we're going to have a mini Nic or a mini Me. Nic's doing well selling but he's anxious to be done with the summer. I am too. We can't wait to get back to utah.

We miss you all!!!

....a walk down memory lane....

I got this from a couple of my friends blogs, and I've seen that everyone is doing it, so I thought I'd join in on the fun! Here's the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, leave a memory anyway!

I'm 23!!!

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday a great one! I turned 23 on July 11th, and I was so happy to have my parents and sister here to hang out with me while Nic had to work all day. We woke up around 9 to do presents and so we could hang out a little before Nic had to head off to work. Nic was so cute and bought me a ticket to fly home for a week. YAY!! So i'm heading off to Utah tomorrow for a week. The rest of us hung out for the rest of the day. That night, my parents and I went to dinner at Mimi's Cafe. It was a nice relaxing day, and I really enjoyed it. I'm sad Nic couldn't hang out with us, but he had to work. Since he had to work all day, we went to the Cheesecake Factory today to celebrate with the whole family. I LOVE cheesecake more than anything, and I love that restaurant. It was good food and great company. Thank you mom and dad, Lani and Nic!!!

All of us at The Cheesecake Factory. The one here is not nearly as busy as back home. We had a 5 min. wait. It was so nice compared to the hour and a half wait back home.

The night of my birthday, the wives did cake and ice cream for me. It was so nice of them, and it was fun to all get together. Thank you girls!!!!!

Visitors

This past week, my mom, dad, and sister came and visited us here in California. It was SO much fun to see them. And once again, I know I always do this, but I didn't take very many pictures. We didn't do a whole lot while they were here, but it was so nice to just relax, hang out and spend time with them. We went up to Aunt Trudy's a few times to hang out there and ate a lot of good food there. My dad made his enchiladas (for any of you who have had them, you know how good they are) 2 times for me because they tasted SO good and I absolutely LOVE them. Thank you guys for everything you did for us out here!!! Thanks for all the good food and especially for the great company. And mom, thank you SO SO much for deep cleaning my bathroom. I was VERY greatful for that since the smell of bathroom cleaners was too much for me. We love you guys a lot!!!!

One day we went up to Santa Barbara with Aunt Trudy, and these pictures are from the top of the court house there. It is by far the coolest court house I have ever seen. It's designed after an old spanish castle. This is the view from the very top of it. It was really neat. And these are the only pictures I took of what we did while my parents were here. I really am going to try to be better at taking more pictures. (I know I always say that too)

4th of July...a little late

This 4th of July was definitely different for me. Nic was back at home in Utah for the weekend to attend a funeral for one of his good friends. So luckily I have some family out here. I started out the day going to my Aunt's ward breakfast. We had homemade scones and fresh fruit. It was so good and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Karalee, Scott & little Austin. Kelli and Kori also came with me and I had a lot of fun with them too. I forgot to take pictures of that so...sorry!

That night, the office had a b.b.q. but I didn't really want to go since Nic wasn't there. My cousins invited me to go watch the fireworks up in Santa Barbara. Kelli and I went and had a lot of fun. We sat on the beach and watched the show. Karalee's best friend Carlina got there at like 3 in the afternoon to save our spot (the beach was absolutely packed with people) and she made this great couch out of sand. It was so nice. We had our own little lounge to watch the show.

Here are few pictures of the fireworks. It was a great firework show. It was interuppted for a little while and a lot of people thought it must have been over, so a ton of people left. We knew it couldn't have been over because there was no finale. So we waited and waited and it finally started up again, and the finale was great. After it was over, we found out that the interupption was caused by a stabbing in the beach bathroom that was probably about 25 yards away from us!!! I think I heard that 3 people were involved and the youngest involved was 13 years old. I couldn't believe that we were that close to something so violent. Luckily we didn't see or hear any of it happen, but it was still crazy. Overall, I had a great day. It would have been better if I could have been with Nic or with our families, but it was still good!
