Since updating to macOS Sonoma 15.4 (public release), the chronod process is (almost) constantly eating >100% CPU, up to >300% CPU. The system is always too hot and less responsive, in result. The file is /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ChronoCore.framework/Support/chronod The user that runs it is my user. After several painful days, I have tried to set nice to 20 to that process, in order to alleviate the unresponsiveness of the system. Before Sonoma 15.4, I did not even know that the process chronod existed, CPU usage by the system was low, system temperature was low.
