Fiesta, again.

I've photographed this parade seven out of the last eight years. I actually love it and enjoyed the challenge of trying to make a picture there I hadn't made before.

A happy day in court, for once

Two of the girls I followed from Haiti to San Antonio last March completed the final step in their adoption process. Normally I'm in court photographing people accused of doing terrible things. It was lovely to be there today for a happy occasion instead.

Hermine

I worried all morning that my flight would be delayed because of Tropical Storm Hermine and I wouldn't make it back in time for my 1 pm shift. Luckily I arrived on time and made a frame from the plane at the height of the storm, pleasing the editors and saving my job for another day.

Haiti, my love

Last week I sent myself to Haiti for a week, to continue working on a project I've been working on for the paper and to spend time with my dear friends, Eddy and Francklin. I'm sorry it took an earthquake for me to reconnect with the country I love so much.
