Someone I know lost 20lbs in 20days juicing. Whaaaa??? I’d been thinking about juicing to see what the hype is about and with that first hand ‘testimony’…ya know I gorra try it. I know, I know…it’s not healthy to lose that much weight that quickly/it doesn’t stay off/you can’t maintain it cos you go right back to eating like you used to…YES! YES! I know…The main reason I’d like to try this is not only to see if I would actually lose weight but WHERE I would lose the weight. I had done the lemon diet years ago and my stomach was enviably flat but then again I much smaller than I am now. This time I want to see if I would lose “boobage” so I can settle once and for all if it’s true that I Never lose weight in my upper region. Then again its a guy that lost that much weight...doesn't quite come off a lot of women that quickly

Thankful for ‘Travel vouchers’…I should take advantage of these opportunities more often, they sho do come in handy.

I love #ChicagoFire. There was an episode about this legal guardian thing that got me thinking [again] Backstory: Fire fighter loses life in the line of fire and leaves behind a wife and two boys. His best friend [current lead fire fighter] was listed as legal guardian to the boys at some point before he passed [I’m hoping this was discussed but it wasn’t clear in the story…so for the sake of this note and drama, let’s say he didn’t know]. Anyways, on the anniversary of his death, his wife goes out drinking with friends. She gets plastered but still gets behind the wheels. She gets in an accident and her best friend dies. She’s going to be in jail for 15month. Guess who has to take care of the Kids? The legal guardian!!
The best friend [Casey]  goes to visit the wife in prison and she ‘springs’ the news on him. That got me wondering…wouldn’t it be nice for people to keep some kind of fund linked to the legal guardianship? As in if you go through the trouble to list someone legally they should have some type of monthly payment attached. I don’t know mehn, I’m just thinking aloud…cos I know a lot of people are trying to stretch a dollar much less…Imagine being a single guy managing your income and suddenly you have to care for 2 middle schoolers. I think I talked about something similar before with regards to God parenting but that’s not really legal and I don’t know how many of these type of scenarios happen with God parents. All in all…ki Olorun sa nu!

These TV script writers try oh…how imaginative do you have to be to just keep churning out these plots and stories? So I watch ‘Beauty and the Beast’ *hangs head in shame* and at the end of the first season I couldn’t imagine which way they would take the story cos the whole thing just seem a little limited, in fact, I thought it would get cancelled, but what do ya know…they came up with something.

So apparently politicans everywhere are selfish bastards and here i was thinking Naija had the lease on that...good to know! Congress pay should be stopped too when these things happen...i'm sure it will give them an incentive to be mature about things. smdh.
 

I really do wish i loved salads. I see all these oyibo pipu eating just salad for lunch and I’m like ‘eh ya, wish I could’ Lol. That said, I’ve never been to COSI…I hear their salads are ‘sinful’. Meh. 

 

I think companies that don't give their employees a paid lunch are wankers. I mean the least you can do for underpaying folks is give them one free hour to do what they want with. Stingy mofos.

 

This govt. building is so old they have ‘Window' air conditioners in every aisle and you flush the toilet with your foot…I’d never seen that in Yankee before. I quite like it though, hands free, sides I know most pple still use their foot to flush the ones we have today when they can.

I keep my shoe boxes when I can…I just think it’s a neater way to store shoes. I’ve been contemplating getting a bunch of those plastic ‘shoe’ boxes w/lids and throw out the cartoon ones. Unfortunately, since the advent of platform shoes that is no longer a viable option cos they don’t fit the regular 6quart boxes :(. I did think of taking pictures of the shoes, printing them, and sticking them on the boxes [like I saw on some show ages ago]………wayyyyyyyyyy too much work.

 

With everything else is getting so much smaller…why haven’t they invented smaller hair dryers with more compact attachments/combs?

 

Decided to go get a “professional” hair trim because I heard this person knows how to handle natural hair…well, that was a bloody waste of my 70quid…but that head massage? That head massage was everything!!

Not quite...it's still hot as hell around these parts. 

When did people stop saying  “Bless you” after someone sneezes? I thought it was a general practice by most, no? Not that it adds or removes anything from me but I’ve just recently noticed that while I still mostly say it when someone around me sneezes, when I/others sneeze, mostly not one else says anything. [think work setting not like an airport or with complete strangers even tho i do quite often still say bless you to complete strangers...or have to think twice to not say it.]

I’ve been seeing/just now noticing a lot of Brown colored cars…much as I love brown, it’s not a great color for cars.

You know what’s really awkward? Hard laugh…ALL the time!! Someone that laughs really hard all the time even at things that are just a little bit funny....they have a way of cutting your own laughter short...like chillllll it's not that funny jo!

I’m not a grammar nazi…not by a long shot sef but some things just irk the hell out of me. 

I know Bikers and Leather kinda go together but how on earth can they stand to be fully clad in leather in 80-100 degree weather?? They gotta be baking in there *shudders*

Boya my own work is not important enough but omo I switch off work mode as I’m walking to the my car on a daily sef. Even when I used to get my work emails on my personal phone…ignoring them was never a problem for me. Say who die na? Abegi!!

There are 2 people at my job, one young dude and an older woman, between them they probably go thru 10/12 cans of diet coke in a day *shudders*

Westin’s Heavenly Spa w/White Tea Aloe conditioner smells delightful! So I go online to see if I can find it to buy. Why did I see a bunch of people selling the tiny 1oz travel size bottles on ebay?? LMAO!!! Like 10 bottles for $6. Omo, people will make a buck out of anything!! I mean, can you beat stealing collecting [I actually usually take the ones wherever I stay] things from somewhere for free and making small change off em? Lol. That being said, I didn’t find bigger sizes sha.

Of the 5 weekends in August, I was away for 3…not too shabby. This woulda been a good one to be away tho'

People hate checking luggage cos they hate waiting to claim baggage. I hate carrying luggage and but i hate paying even more so i won't check a carry on but i'm that person who offers to check bag at the gate for free...i always try to have a padlock on hand in case i need to lock my carry on. Not having to deal with finding over heard space/putting down other hand bag and trying not to hit people/lifting suitcase/and then finally getting situated...well worth the checked luggage to me.

Like 5 mins after i consciously decide "I guess i won't have dinner since i'm not really hungry" I feel hunger pangs...never fails! 0_o

Some people are strong oh. I know someone who('s wife) had a home birth. One of those "pool in the middle of the living room with midwife" type births. I mean i know people do it out there in the world somewhere just never thought 'regular' folks did [whatever that means] more so naija person. Fascinating!!

The Tesla [1st All Electric Car] looks very normal on the outside...i quite like it. Did you know that the hood is empty?? It's freaky!! As in you pop open the hood of the car and it looks like the trunk...not a single wire or component...it's completely bare!! Oh the trunk has 2 seats...kiddie seats they call em. Cos well, instead of putting things in the trunk like we normally do, you can put them in the hood cos well...it's emptyyyyy!!!!! FREAKY!! The car is completely operated from the dashboard and everything is like you're on a computer. Of cos, the first thing i thought of was 'hmm, give it 5-10 years when this thing is popular...all we need are some hackers with nothing better to do. They hack into the core system of the makers of the car and Teslas all over the world will be stopped dead in their tracks and rendered useless' Lol!!

I was reading a novel and it stated that “the oldest word in the English language is town”. I happened to be online so i went a-googling. #Fail!. That wasn’t a true statement. I mean, I know it’s fictional work but don’t they or shouldn’t they at least try to be accurate if they make such bold claims? Mschew.

About that, so the book is about a child that was born with…fragile bones syndrome [i forget the name of the disease]. It was detected at 27 weeks or so. Reading the book and everything they all had to go through-- the kid, the sister, the parents. Question is [obviously for pro-choice people]: If you knew your child will be born with xyz defect and their life would be filled with hospitals and pain and medication and everything in between. Is it selfish or selfless to birth that child? Ki Olorun ma je ka ri laburu. 

You know one thing i don't know how to make?? Moi-Moi!! I've tried a couple of times and they were not good :(

I'm probably one of the few people who didn't watch not ONE news clip about the Royal baby...all i know is he came and his name is xyz.

Or is it that we women think too much and therefore over-analyze everything and make everything an issue? Either way, there are unspoken ‘rules’ we [should] all live by.

There is a place called ‘Death Valley National Park’ in Cali. Temperatures get up to the 120s…people from ‘allover(?)’ the world make a trip there every year to experience the heat first hand and take pictures by the thermostat….people are crazy I swear. Shey this one too na ‘adventure’? O ga. I heard another one about some plant that smells like death…as in it smells really really bad when its flower blooms and people ‘track’ the growth of the plant so that they can be there when the flower blooms and experience the smell. SMDH!!

What does a sista have to do to get ticket/airline hook-ups?? All these years and I still don’t have one. SMH. These ticket prices are the pits!!
