So, as a failed blogger, I am going to try to just send out a new post at the end of every month and update on what our family has been doing. The sole purpose of this blog is to share with my family and friends. I have been thinking a lot about family, and how far apart many of us are, and maybe this will help us feel a little closer :)
We began October in a very appropriate way, finding our yard covered in huge spider webs. The one pictured here was directly outside out kitchen window, near our back door. The web was easily 2 1/2 to 3 feet in diameter. The spider, kindly nick-named Charlotte by Logan, wasn't a light-weight either. She was very big, and I was just grateful she was outside and not in. The web lasted for a few days, and afforded my children something interesting to look and marvel at. The loved watching her re-spin her web after catching a lunch. I am not a spider person, but I was also fascinated by her. She was amazing to watch...from inside the house.
Early in the month we had a weekend full of parades and pumpkin patches. The boys and I went to the Issaquah Salmon Days and they had a blast! The weather was so nice and perfect for a parade!
Right after the parade we headed to Fall City Farms to meet up with my parents, Rachel & Tommy and my cousin Kerri and her husband Brian and their little guy Rylan. Since it was the first weekend the farm was open to "pumpkin pickers" there were tons of pumpkins everywhere. So many to choose from it was almost overwhelming. The boys had fun trompin' through the patch. I will admit that my favorite part is always the home-made mini donuts and the little pumpkin cups full of fresh apple cider. Yum!
