Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving week with Sean's parents in town.  We visited a few places around our corner of Florida: Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, and Sandestin.  All very beautiful!!

We're back!!!!

To all of our four readers (hi mom!!!) I know what you're thinking.....but no I did NOT forget about the blog!!!  We've been so busy settling into our new house in Florida (we LOVE it!!!!) that I just haven't had time to sit down, download pics and post an update.  So much has happened and I have tons of pictures and videos to share.  So keep checking back!!  I will get around to it, I promise!!!

11 months!

Sean and I agree...we just can't believe our sweet little chunky monkey boy is approaching his first birthday!!  And before our lives get super hectic with packing up, moving out and basically living as nomads for the next 2 months, I wanted to share a quick update. 

RJ is still his happy, curious self.  He is crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE!  I guess I notice it more this time because our current apartment is not very babyproof and it is impossible to block off the kitchen or remind a certain three year old (and a certain 33 year old to be honest) to "PLEASE close the door to the bathroom, bedrooms, pantry, etc!".  Visit our house for a day and you will hear the phrase "Ummm...where's RJ??" more than I can say.  He certainly keeps us on our toes!

And my favorite!  I can't help but crack up when I watch this.  After I stopped filming, Caroline started going faster and faster, and RJ's little legs could barely keep up!  It was hilarious!

I also made the Aggie dress from the previous post.  It just goes to show that if you can sew a straight line with a sewing machine, you can make an entire dress!!

Last Friday was "favorite sports team day" at Caroline's preschool, so I whipped up this little dress for her to wear!!  More on the sewing later...

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I asked for pictures in the flowers. This was a little harder than it sounded, trust me. Sean was leaving for a TDY that day, so to get everyone dressed up, out the door, in the flowers, and smiling, all before Sean had to report to work, was no easy task. The pictures came out great! We were not able to get a family photo because it was early in the morning and no one else was there to take our picture, but we were pretty happy with the ones we did get :)

Caroline has shown an interest in dancing lately. She LOVES the TV show "Dancing with the Stars"!! We have fun watching it together :) I was trying to take a picture of her in this cute dress (Thanks Great-Gigi!) and she decided it was a dancing dress! Here she is twirling around!

Sean and I agree that it is time for a dance class once we get to Florida!!

The weather is FINALLY getting warm so today I was able to dress RJ in one of his summer outfits. He looked so big!!

I also moved him into a "Big Boy" carseat. It's about time...he's about three pounds over the max weight limit for his baby car seat!! My baby boy is growing SO fast!

Easter weekend

Let me just start with a warning: there are A LOT of pictures on this post!! So unless your name is Gigi, Mimi, Pawpaw, G-dad or any other names that begin with "Great", "Aunt" or "Uncle"... you might get a little overwhelmed (bored) during this LONG post where I basically re-create every moment of our Easter weekend through pictures! If you ARE interested...enjoy!

Ever since RJ was born I have been TERRIBLE about taking pictures while we are out and about. When we are home the camera is nearby and I usually grab it when one of the kids is doing something cute. But before, when we were out...I was pushing a stroller (or wearing the baby bjorn), carrying a diaper bag, and trying to hold Caroline's hand so she didn't run off (or I was chasing her!). So I usually just left the camera at home. I even gave up (temporarily) on my favorite SLR camera because it was entirely too big to even attempt to bring along. But now, Caroline is a little older and indepenedent and RJ can ride in the stroller for longer periods of time without needing to be changed, fed, pacified, etc. So I made it my goal to take LOTS of pictures over the Easter weekend with my favorite camera!! It was a beautiful weekend and we had so much fun as a family!!

On Friday afternoon we had our friends over to dye eggs, decorate cupcakes and eat pizza!!

On Saturday morning we joined the squadron for a kids Easter egg hunt. Caroline LOVED it!!

The weather was beautiful! 49 degrees and sunny. So different than the Texas Easters I remember!!
