The magical monastery known as Taktsang (the “Tiger’s Nest”), is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Buddhist Himalayan World. Legend says that Guru Rinpoche, the Tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, landed here on the back of a flying tiger and converted the people of the Paro Valley to Buddhism.
