Terrorist Attack in Tunisia 24/11/15

schneiiderlin:

Hi. I would like to inform you about something terrible that happened in my country today. In the heart of the capital of Tunisia. It was a terrorist attack that claimed at least 12 lives as far as I know, and 16 wounded. (x) It was targeted at the bus of presidential guards. It took place on Mohamed V Avenue, close to where the previous dictator Zine El Abdine Ben Ali’s headquarters. It was during rush hour, meaning that many people would be on the streets. Tunis is a fairly busy city around the clock, since both the city and the country is very social.

The information I have received from the Tunisian news and from my relatives is that about a week ago, the security in Sousse (where the horrible terrorist attack took place in June this year, killing 38 people) had been reduced since there hasn’t been any “threats”. And that the security in Tunis and it’s suburbs is under control.

This is not the first time Tunisia has been targeted by terrorism. In the beginning of the year the Bardo Museum shooting took place, in Bardo in the capital. And another one in Sousse in June, as mentioned earlier. And now, the third time in one year.

I am very shocked and saddened by this, to say the least. I want to apologise that I don’t have that many sources since I get my information from Tunisian TV and from my relatives that live in the Tunis area. I also want to say sorry if my English isn’t that good but I felt the need to inform you about what happened today. The tourism in my country has been on a low ever since the revolution in late 2010/early 2011. And the terrorist attacks are just making it worse. The economy is on a low and it’s hard to get by for many. I’m sorry if this seems to personal, but I’m affected by this and it hurts.

Tunisia is my home. It is where I’m from and a huge part of who I am. All I want is for you to be informed about what happened. It would be so kind of you if you kept my country and its people in your prayers today. Remember all the countries that have been hit by terrorist attacks, remember them and please don’t let us be forgotten. If you want to pray for us, please do, it would be extremely thoughtful of you. We are strong, we will get by. Tunisia has survived so much. But sometimes, everyone needs help. If you’ve read this far, thank you very much, I can’t ask any more of you. And if you share, thank you.

Much love from a Tunisian. #JeSuisTunisie #PrayForTunisia
