So I cleaned like crazy yesterday and Jake and I have been working overtime just to get to more of a finished place with our house. I woke up feeling inspired to document side by side changes and before and afters...but seriously blogger is the WORST to work in. So here are a ton and I mean a TON of pictures for anyone who cares. The first set are taken this morning and then the last half are before pictures taken from our house when it was listed for sale. Honestly the house looks great in before pictures...but it never felt that nice in real life. The home owner was a smoker and had 3 dogs...so just paint and removing popcorn ceiling was huge. I also updated a few pics of the process. We have been so focused on projects one after the other...today it was so fun to just see how far we have come. So many memories, so much PAINT and work that is priceless to do as a family. Seriously...I love my kids and my husband so much already...but time spent on a project together is the sweetest time of all.
We feel so lucky to have found a home that is moments from Grandma and Grandpa and love the ward and neighbors here. Yesterday I had friends over from our old ward and they will forever be a part of our lives...but we are grateful for the the new friends and life here. Sometimes change is hard...but so worth it in the end.
Enjoy our little house on San Angelo Ave.

Freshly painted door. |
Lots and lots of paint projects. I think every dresser we own and almost every piece of furniture got an update or sold.
My favorite thing we did was build and install barn doors!
My friend made this cute chalkboard sign for our home. I love it. Notice it is our actual house!
So the following pics are all before pictures. The piano was a gift from the sweet lady who lived here before. I joke that I bought the house for the free piano. I like a deal.
This is the fireplace we ripped out. I was so sad to see it go. I love fireplaces. But we needed the space that it would give us when it was gone.![]() |

This is the biggest change. No fireplace, No plant shelf, No half wall...no more sunken living room. |
Picking a gray color has been the death of me. I ended up liking it...but seriously. Never will I paint gray again.
Kids helping me bring the floors in from the street. We ordered them online and the truck just dropped them off almost in the middle of the road.
This is where we added the den or tv room for our kids. Norm built this room for us!
Lucy working hard.

Bringing home the baseboards. Had to get creative. I LOVE our baseboards and would love to get crown molding too.
Tearing down a wall.
Lots and lots of paint projects.

And lots of wood making projects too. |
It is an old home. So a lot of time has been spent just updating it to make it seem fresh and clean. The benefit is my closets are organized and cleaner than I have kept them in the past.
Photo taken on Mother's day, first morning after we moved into our new home. This is what makes life sweet...no matter where we live.
