Nice collective! Can I join?
You can, by contacting Planar Champion! Provided that:
- There’s a slot available. (We set a cap to 100 members for the sake of sanity). Current slots available: 20.
- You are willing and able to create a blog revolving around a specific player class/archetype that you’re passionate about
- Said class/archetype (or any very similar) is not already taken. To check that, see Who We Are.
- You have time to devote to the blog, and intend to stick around
- You’ll be reasonably civil with your fellow adventurers and the general public
Wait, what does reasonably civil mean?
It means, first of all, that the fully inclusive nature of the collective sits very well with you. Second, we’re nice people here (yes, even the paragons of Evil), and we’d like to keep it that way. Be nice and use your common sense.
Aww, my favourite class is taken. Now what?
Unfortunately, we can’t have more than one blog for each class. But you can submit content, or suggest posts via mentions to the blog that strikes your fancy.
So I can contribute without actually running a dedicated blog?
Of course! We’re happy to get feedback and suggestions.
And can I participate in RPing with members of the collective without being a member?
Of course! No one is obliged to interact with anyone else, but many of our members are open to RPing with others.
If I join, am I obliged to create an iconic hero and interact/roleplay with the entire collective?
No. Iconic heroes, tabletalk, and roleplaying are encouraged, but not obligatory. Everyone can participate at their own pace and in their own way.
How do I join?
You contact @weareplanarchampion and you tell us which class you’re interested in. We’ll guide you from there. Please don’t ask us to join “in general”, think a bit about it first (the whole point is to post about something you’re passionate about, after all), and remember to check if your chosen class is not already taken.
I was accepted! What do I do now?
You create your blog (WeAreX or We-Are-X). Make sure the layout shows somewhere that you are part of the We Are Adventurers collective, and link to it. To do that, go to Edit Theme and write in the description: Member of the We Are Adventurers collective, or something to that effect. Alternatively, you can create a separate page (Edit Theme –> Add A Page) that redirects to WAA.
And what will you do?
We will announce your arrival with pomp and circumstance, and include a link to your blog in our Who We Are page. If/when you make an iconic hero, we will reblog it on main WAA, and include a link in our Iconic Heroes page. (If we missed it, please contact the Rogue and give her the link to your iconic.)
Can I post on the main WAA blog?
Yes, once you’re accepted to the collective. The main WAA blog is collaborative, and in order to become a member, you have to give your mail address to the Paladin or the Rogue. (The mail address associated with your Tumblr account, specifically.)
What can I post on the main WAA?
Suggestions for other WAA blogs, suggested tabletalk topics, and posts relating in general to roleplaying and tabletop.
Any guidelines for WAA posts?
- The WAA is for everyone, and no class is meant to hog the spotlight.
- Please make an effort to source any art you post.
- It would be nice to sign your posts (in tags or in the text), so that we’ll know at first glance which adventurer posted what.
Can I run two blogs for two different classes at the same time?
If you can pull it off, yes. (There’s a precedent.) Can you?
I want to report a missing/broken/wrong link in your List of Adventurers or List of Iconics or List of RP blogs. Or I have another question. Who do I bug?
You bug the Rogue or send a message to WAA.
And now, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
