Porter Says

Yesterday was Election Day. I'm not going to lie, it was rough. I didn't appreciate anything about either major candidate. When I got home from voting Porter asked who I voted for. I told him and he said if he voted he would vote for President Monson.

I hope she remembers

Tonight, Maielle was having a hard time getting to sleep. The sun has been going down later and her room has a window on the west.
She was crying upstairs so I went to see what was wrong. She asked me why she had to get a new family and move out of our house. She said she doesn't want to leave. I explained that she would be able to choose what she wanted to do when she grows up. If she wants to stay here she can. But that if I chose not to get married then I wouldn't have her. I also explained that she would always be part of my family because we are sealed together for eternity.
I honestly hope when she is a teenager she remembers wanting to stay here and always loves me enough that she wants to be in my family.

Nathan broke his femur part 1

We skipped school for the day and went skiing. Jake took lessons for me this year, while I've been teaching Porter. We had a good ski day in January and thought Jake would get a more private lesson if we went on a week day.

The third time up the lift the accident happened. Nathan fell getting off the lift and tripped the person riding with him and she fell on him. He was crying but Nathan freaks out about little things so I moved him out from in front of the lift and tried to calm him down. We waited for the ski patrol. They got him on a sled and took him down the mountain.

We waited for the ambulance and they cut off his pants and figured his leg was broken and wanted to get him to the hospital in Driggs.
This x-ray is after they splinted it and sent us home to find an orthopedic surgeon. Luckily our family doctor got us a consult and we stopped on our way home at Mountain View Hospital for the night and had surgery the next morning.
Our drive from Driggs to Idaho Falls was terrible. I wish they would have life flighted him.

Paige update

Paige has learned to crawl on her hands and knees, sit from crawling, and pull herself up on things. Tonight she was trying to climb the stairs. Luckily she only stood up by the stair. It's only a matter of time.
Some days I wish she would just stay little. But it makes me happy that she is growing and learning. I love her sweet kisses, zerberts, and talking, she's my first baby to say mama before dada. She says both and lots of other babbling.

Christmas Tree Fantasy

We went to the Christmas Tree Fantasy today. The trees were beautiful. Maielle wanted to stay to listen to the music for longer than the boys. We also were able to visit with Santa.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. It started with pie day yesterday. We made a lot of pies and enjoyed the company of family, while the kids played.

Today, Howard, Hayden, and I ran in the race to feed the hungry in Idaho Falls. It was snowy, windy, cold, and slick. I was disappointed in my time. But I'm glad we went. Howard and Hayden were quite a bit faster than me.

We had a nice dinner and yummy pies at my Parents house. Nathan and Maielle sang a Thanksgiving song and poem, it was cute. Paige enjoyed playing and squealing at the Stevensons little dog.

Story Time Halloween Parade

It has been so long since I blogged that we have a new member of our family. Porter and baby Paige dressed up for story time today. We had fun and took Charlynn's kids with us.

Porter was so cute about his candy he shared a bite of his twix  with me because they are my favorite. He saved candy to share with Nathan and Maielle.
