Hey yo!
I decided to tell you about something I'm really excited about and what's partially been keeping me very busy lately:
I started working as a maid in Amai Manga Café, in Helsinki.
The Manga Café in Helsinki is, as it states, actually a manga cafe, not a maid cafe but recently they've been holding maid events every Monday and as soon as I heard about them looking for maids I applied!
Here's some maid outfit pictures of my in-work-look!

Dress&apron: Bodyline
Headdress: Bodyline
Gloves: mom's wedding gloves ♥
Socks: D.I.Y.
Shoes: Dinsko
The requirements for the job were a positive and social attitude and a maid outfit and since I was only lacking the the latter one I ordered this from Bodyline's Rakuten shop via a shopping service. I fell in love with this one because of this really classic Japanese maid look combined with that heart-shaped apron, love!
I also like the dress I'm wearing in the pictures ahead, it's one I borrowed from my boss before my own dress arrived. It's a lot longer than the Bodyline one but I think that's exactly what makes it so attractive in a Touhou-sorta way, and Touhou is always good obviously ヽ( ゜∀゜)ノ

The event is called Maid Monday and it's usually held at Manga Café every Monday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.
Basically what it means is that employees dressed as Japanese maids serve as waitresses and general entertainers for customers, presenting them the menu, serving their orders and playing games, drawing and talking with them, all according to the customers wishes!

Yes, my co-workers and customers are all nyanpires. Pic by Yu Andou. |
The first Maid Monday was more popular than what we were prepared for and we actually ran out of seats to sit on so half-way through the day we were assembling chairs with a screwdriver and bloody IKEA instructions at the back of the café to fit in all the people... It was such a hassle since it was the first time doing anything like this outside a convention in Finland(゜A゜;)

Also something really awesome happened on the first day and I gotta hype about it a bit! *insert brag here*
A Japanese guy called Yu Andou showed up at the café to make an article about us to a major Japanese anime, manga and games news site you might know called Kotaku! We were also interviewed for a Finnish newspaper called Helsingin Uutiset and apparently Tokyo Otaku Mode is going to make an article about our upcoming Butler Nights for the ladies too!
The Kotaku article can be found here in case you're interested.
The first Butler Night is to be held on April 1st (no that's not an April Fool's troll) with sinfully handsome butlers such as Prince Karakuri and the next Maid Monday is held again on April 8th, so feel free to show up if you are interested!
I guess that's all for now, so here, have some panda strawberry pancake!
Mata ne! ヾ( ´・ω・`)ノ
