Filmmakers Maurice Hall and Tony L. Patterson have set the cast for their third feature together, the indie dramedy #WorstChristmasEver. The list includes B.J. Britt (The Groomsmen Last Dance), Taja V. Simpson (Tyler Perry's The Oval), Shanti Lowry (The Game), Bill Bellamy (Bel-Air), Tamala Jones (Ordinary Angels), Maurice Hall (High Potential), Tyler Lofton (The Pitt), and Mo Ashley (All American: Homecoming).

Written by Patterson and Hall, who also features in the ensemble, the film follows recently divorced workaholic Billy Turner (Britt) as he's persuaded to fly across the country to celebrate Christmas with his children, James (Lofton) and Haley (Ashley), his ex-wife, Alicia (Lowry)….and her new fiancé, Chris (Hall). Billy's longtime friends, Larry (Bellamy) and Cynthia (Jones), try to talk him off a ledge in his dread of this years' holiday. And in a feat to drink away his sorrows, he literally stumbles upon high powered lawyer, Harmony Davis (Simpson). Though brief, their first encounter over chicken wings and a series of jokes turns to an unlikely romance that leads Billy to invite her to Christmas dinner. James, Haley and friends travel from separate coasts, dealing with delays, cancellations and daddy issues as their parents navigate their own past and pettiness.

The intention, Hall said, was to give the audience the opportunity "to create memories that emphasize the importance of family, love, and resilience, especially during the holidays. Think Almost Christmas meets Guess Who."

Hall produced for Mo-tivation Unlimited, alongside Patterson's PattersonHouse Productions, and Simpson & McGowan Studios, with Ricki Maslar handling casting. Carl McDowell (Ballers) and René Ashton (The Man in the Guesthouse) round out the cast.

Britt is repped by Joseph Le Talent Agency and Luber Roklin; Simpson by Stewart Talent and E Cubed Management; Lowry by Buchwald; Hall by Eileen O'Farrell Management; Bellamy by Buchwald; Jones by IAG and Alchemy Entertainment; Lofton by AEFH and Luber Roklin; and Ashley by Kia Todd Agency and Sheila Legette Entertainment.
