Zaedy's Journey

Brought Zaedy for his jumper run thru last night at BDR cause he has not been training for 3 weeks. Well...., super bad focus initially. I think it's because he has not been training plus I never bring him out during weekends to burn his energy due to rain. But we still manage to complete a few jump and tunnel.

And i was talking to meow and i remember how I embark on a journey with Jazz. Zaedy was super hyper and naughty when he is a pup. I wanted to bring him for ob training but always find myself excuses to delay it until one day she accidentally nip a lady's finger due to his excitement for food. And that lady was making the whole small matter big by saying how bad Zaedy is and all. That was the time when I decide to bring Zaedy for ob training.

I search websites and forums and found jazz's contact and the whole journey start. Zaedy is still super naughty after ob and i stopped training Zaedy due to money constraints, studies and I have an op on my knee. As soon as i graduate and recovered in nov 2011, i went back to training with Zaedy and this time it's JUMPER! And I never looked back ever since.

Pre Trial Run

Hooray for Zaedy! He has improved so much since the last SKC trial in March. Better focus and recall, but still need to tune him to west coast dog run that is the place for competition. I am so happy!

And now my turn. I need to improve on my handling skills. My hands must always be out and point, my turning(left/right handling), encourage and praise him often, i must be loud and dont take any risk. So many to improve on esp my front and rear turn. I need to step up my training so Zaedy may be will have a Q in the next SKC trial. Jiayou!

Jumper Trial @ Dogtravaganza

After today trial, i need to improve my handling skills and have more confidence in zaedy. Zaedy's focus and recall is much better but still not good enough. Need more practice on that. I'm always worrying about him losing focus and running off course but actually he can perform except the tyre. He bypass the tyre and just refuse to go near it. Well, he need more trainings on that and his double jump too.
1 month plus before the skc trial, Zaedy and I have to buck up so zaedy can at least have a Q.

Handling skills

Zaedy has improved tremendously in his jumper training. YAY! His focus improved, jumps are better BUT he hates the sun now. -.- Zaedy is still as fast as before but his stamina dropped.
And me need to improve my handling skills. I always dropped my hands thus zaedy always miss and did not see the poles. Or it's me who is too slow and always bang into him.
SKC trial in June meaning i have 2 more months to train.

Zaedy in the house

It been more than one month since Zaedy's castration, he is recovering well except I have to go back to the vet to cut away his stitches. Well, nobody knows what happen and what he did and he manage to lick and pull his stitches out. I guess it's because he's too bored at home and misses his doggy pals.

It's not really my fault that I am busy every weekend in mar, I didnt expect it. Poor Zaedy, have to stay at home cause i'm either not in sg or have something on during weekend. I promise to make up to him by bringing him out if there's car every weekend. And Zaedy will be starting his level 2 jumper soon.

Outing to Lower Seletar

Walk the dys from house to lower seletar reserviour. As usual, ody tired out first and Zaedy is always full of energy.

Training

No 1 priority is focus training for Zaedy. He gets super distracted with new surroundings and new dogs and he turn all his attention to the new dogs and left none for me. It's seriously a headache. My goals for him is at least one Q for the next jumper trial in June and he is able to go for ob trial (pre novice). Jiayou.

2 weeks had past and Zaedy is free to roam the house and dog runs. Zaedy is like glue now, sticking to me wherever i goes at home.The real test begins outside home where there are other dogs around. Do i exsist when we are outside the house, can he focus and respond to command. I am worried about his trainings.

2 weeks of no strenuous exercise and runs and jumps had put Zaedy's fitness back to zero. So the plan is to get him back in shape. Dog run and swimming(if possible) every weekend + some focus trainings.

We are running round the house

Zaedy is running and jumping around the house. His energy is back and he have nowhere to burn, so his turn his attention to ODY! They chased each other round the house and played tug of war. It been a while since I saw these scenes.

My plans for Zaedy after he recovered is to bring him for weekly swim/play other than his jumper lessons but my issue is not about time and it is about transport. I dont have a car, taking a cab is super inconvenient as some taxi uncles dont allow pets on board and pet taxis are too expensive. Headache.
