HMGB1 and TLR4 expressions in epilepsy patients and HCs
The sirtuin family relies mainly on its deacetylation activity and inflammation-related signals such as NF-[kappa]B and
HMGB1, which are the major targets of SIRT1.
The anti-NF-[kappa]B p65 antibody, anti-HMGB1 antibody,
HMGB1 siRNA (h), and the siRNA transfection reagent were purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology (Santa Cruz, CA, USA).
Mo, monocytes; MF, macrophages, DC, dendritic cells; MC, mast cells; B, B lymphocytes; T, T lymphocytes; NK, NK cells; HSPs, heat shock proteins;
HMGB1, high mobility group box 1; mRNA, messenger RNA; ssRNA, single-stranded RNA.
HMGB1 is a DNA-binding nuclear protein discovered over 30 years ago [9-11].
Likewise, higher serum high-mobility group box 1 (
HMGB1) and IL-6 levels have been linked to POCD in patients who have undergone gastrointestinal surgery (Lin, Wang, Chen, Hu, & Ouyang, 2014).
The results of Blast in GenBank showed that they shared high homologies with SMAD5 (95%), COL6A3 (95%), SLC17A5 (93%), TPM4 (99%) and
HMGB1 (98%), respectively.
One of the candidates of such triggering substances would be a molecular group called as DAMPs (damage associated molecular patterns) including A[beta] and
HMGB1. We tested whether A[beta] and
HMGB1 could trigger phosphorylation of MARCKS at Ser46 in primary neurons by adding them to the culture medium.
Emerging evidence has indicated that
HMGB1, a highly conserved nonhistone nuclear protein that serves as a damage associated molecule pattern molecule, is associated with the pathogenesis of T2D.
