The reagent-grade NaCl, NaHC[O.sub.3], [Na.sub.2]C[O.sub.3], KCl, [K.sub.2]HP[O.sub.4] x 3[H.sub.2]O, Mg[Cl.sub.2] x [H.sub.2]O, Ca[Cl.sub.2] and [Na.sub.2]S[O.sub.4] was dissolved in double distilled water and was buffered at 36.5[degrees]C at pH 7.25 with trishydroxymethyl ammino methane ([(C[H.sub.2]OH).sub.3]CN[H.sub.3]) and HCl, such that the ionic composition of the SBF was similar with the human body plasma.
