The latest report on the global
Muriate of Potash (MOP) market suggests a positive growth rate in the coming years.
According to a press release issued here Wednesday, he said that under this subsidy, farmers were given a voucher of Rs 800 per bag of Sulphate of Potash (SOP) and a voucher of Rs 500 per bag of
Muriate of Potassium (MOP).
The maize crop was fertilized by hill placement method at two weeks after sowing at the rate of 60 N kg[ha.sup.-1] as urea, 60 P2O5 kg[ha.sup.-1] as triple super phosphate (TSP), and 60 K2Okg[ha.sup.-1] as
muriate of potash (MOP).
Calcium ammonium nitrate and
muriate of potash were applied to all the treatments at the rate of 60 kg [ha.sup.-1] to supply N and K which are often limiting in these soils.
Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP),
Muriate of Potash (MOP), and Mavuno were also used and in each case the farmers indicated these would improve soils for better crops.
The recommended basal doses of N, P, K and S were mixed thoroughly in the soil in order to get 25 kg N, 20 kg P, 30 kg K and 20 kg S ha-1, using urea, single super phosphate,
muriate of potash (KCl) and gypsum as source respectively.

muriate because of its easy availability and less complications.
The N, P and K were provided in the form of urea, single super phosphate (SSP) and
muriate of potash (MOP).
The company extracts and processes potassium ore and sells standard and granular
muriate of potash for the agriculture and chemical industries.
Recommended doses of 150:50:50 kg [ha.sup.-1] of N, P and K in the form of urea, single super phosphate and
muriate of potash were applied to the rice crop in respect of treatment [T.sub.13] (RDF Treatment).
Though home gardeners do not usually fertilize their plants, it is recommended to apply half-teaspoon complete fertilizer 14-14-14 and half-teaspoon
muriate of potash per gallon of water and drench about 100 ml or drinking glass) of this solution per 6 inch pot or for every plant every two weeks.

If you have difficulty locating a fertilizer similar to the above, then feeds containing only potassium such as
muriate of potash or sulphate of potash, green marl or green sand will provide much benefit.
Ocampo said that while using ash as fertilizer did not result in as much yield when using commercial fertilizer, this could still help decrease the cost of production considering that a hectare of corn consumes P1,800 worth of
muriate of potash.
