Diante desta problematica, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a influencia das condicoes microclimaticas do tempo de espera na sala de pintos do incubatorio sobre a qualidade final dos pintos de um dia, oriundos de matrizes de diferentes idades.
O incubatorio possuia area total de 24.200 [m.sup.2], sendo que, deste total, 1.750 [m.sup.2] eram de area construida; o mesmo recebia, mensalmente, uma media de 1.600.000 ovos incubaveis do matrizeiro e uma producao diaria de aproximadamente 70.000 unidades de pintos. A sala de selecao, vacinacao e espera dos pintos possuia uma area total de 131 [m.sup.2], em que cerca de 65 [m.sup.2] eram utilizados para espera dos pintos antes do embarque no caminhao.
Foram selecionados e formados tres lotes de ovos oriundos de matrizes com diferentes idades, da linhagem Cobb 500, provenientes da mesma granja matrizeira, para avaliar a influencia existente entre a idade das matrizes na qualidade dos pintos de um dia.
Todas as pesagens dos ovos e dos pintos desde o nascimento ate o alojamento na granja foram realizadas por meio de balanca digital semianalitica.
