New Quilt Pattern: Charmingly Done - House and Home

Not sure why there is such a gap in time from start (June 2022) to finish but here she is, Charmingly Done, my newest quilt pattern (available in my quilt pattern shop),  freshly washed and already in the spring rotation of quilts.

Charmingly Done is designed for charm packs (precut 5" squares), layer cakes (10" precut squares, fat quarters, fat eighths, or yardage and includes five sizes from lap to king.

My sample quilt for Charmingly Done is made from leftover scraps of House & Home from Poppie Cotton. I cut 5" squares and added in Moda Bella Solids Earth as the accent. Moda Bella Solids Earth is such a great brown, although a bit challenging for me to capture its trueness. It's like a nice warm hug of smooth milk chocolate, not too strong and not too weak, and works perfectly with House & Home.

The prints of House & Home are so lovely, especially the florals.
The colors are soft and calm.

Backing is a flannel Cuddl sheet. Have used these sheets before and they wash up so soft and make a great quilt backing.

For quilting I selected the Triplet edge-to-edge longarm quilting pantograph from Ma Tante Quilting.
I wanted the quilting to be simple and clean yet add a bit of softness and flow to the quilt. Triplet is just perfect! It's also a fun pantograph to watch stitch out because it goes so quickly and smoothly.

Quilt Stats:
Fabric - House and Home from Poppie Cotton
Accent Fabric (brown) - Bella Solids Earth

Happy quilting, everyone!

Custom Baby Quilt - Bella Solids - #3

This is the third custom baby quilt I've made for Kellie using the same Moda Bella Solids colors, very different patterns but the same colors, backing, and binding. Such a neat idea for baby quilts!

This time I was able to offer longarm quilting. The final quilting pantograph choice was Ikat from Urban Elements. I like how it softens the edges a bit but still complements the shape. It was a fun quilting panto to watch quilt out.

The quilting looks kinda cool on the back, too.

With just an inspiration picture, it took me a minute to figure out how to design the block, but in the end, the quilt pieced together quicker and easier than I anticipated.

Love Blooms - A Charming Barn Quilt 3

Using a charm pack of Love Blooms by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics I finished up this fresh new version of my A Charming Barn Quilt 3 quilt pattern.

It was a quick finish for February. A Charming Barn Quilt 3 is an easy quilt to get finished up if you are short on time.

This pattern is available in three sizes using precut fabric mini charm (2 1/2" squares), charm pack (5" squares), or layer cake (10" squares).

The quilting - we need to talk about it!

I settled on this longarm quilting pantograph fairly quickly. Crosshatching - it's a no brainer for me : ) With the scattering of flowers, perfect!
This is the Floral Crosshatch pantograph from Urban Elements.

It stitched out quickly and didn't use up a lot of bobbins.
Don't you love how it pops in the white border?!

I'm not sure how I feel about a red, white, and pink quilted wall hanging, but I do love the quilting.

Here she is coming fresh off the frame. This was the moment that I knew I picked the right longarm quilting pantograph. The light was hitting it just right. So lovely!

New Pattern: Little Bitty Trees - Winterstone

When it's -20 degrees and colder outside, this is as close as I'm going to get to walking in a winter wonderland, and I'm not complaining. Love! Love! Love this little quilt hanging out with my tree collection on the brand new shelf my husband made me : )

This is my newest quilt pattern and next up in my Seasons Quilt Series, Little Bitty Trees, made using Winterstone from Robert Kaufman.
This fabric is so pretty! It has shimmery silver accents that are fairly impossible to capture with a camera.  It has a very elegant feel.

Little Bitty Trees is written for two different sizes -
this wall hanging at 40" x 40" and a table runner at 15"x 49".

The trees can be made with precut charm squares, scraps, layer cake squares, fat quarters, or yardage.
It's such a versatile quilt pattern.

The longarm quilting pantograph, Winter Tempest, is another one I love from My Creative Stitches.

It complements the elegance of the fabric with just the right touch of snow and wind. It stitched out beautifully and smoothly and is the perfect finishing touch to my newest quilted winter wall hanging.

Christmas Carol Charm Pack Scrappy Table Runner

With the left charm pack squares of Christmas Carol ( 3 Sisters for Moda Fabric ) from my Star Compass Barn Quilt, I made up this darling little table runner. I made it just like the little runner I quilted up  with left charms of Avalon (Fig Tree for Moda Fabrics) almost 7 years ago.

The prints are mostly all the light prints from the charm pack. Paired with a warm white background and same binding, the sense of calm and peacefulness this little table runner exudes is so very welcome and warming.

I did simple wavy straight-line quilting with my walking foot. It adds a little bit of flow to the quilt without disturbing it's peacefulness.

Love this little tablerunner quilt!
( and love that fact that I got two quilts from one charm pack : )

It fits perfectly across the top of a small bookcase, and I think works well, even in the middle of February in Minnesota, for a bit of wintery cheer.

Quilt details:
Fabric - Christmas Carol from Moda Fabrics
Batting - cotton flannel
Quilting - wavy straight-line quilting done on regular sewing machine
Size - 10.5" x 42"

Happy quilting, folks : )
