startrekbeyondWant to know the best Star Trek movies?  How about the worst Star Trek movies?  Curious about the Star Trek Movies box office grosses or which Star Trek movies picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Star Trek movies got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

This page was originally written as a Star Trek vs Star Wars comparison.  Well Star Wars pretty much kicked Star Trek’s butt …… so I figured I would separate these two movie franchises into two pages.  This page ranks the 13 Star Trek Movies from Best to Worst.  The rankings were determined by looking at box office grosses, critic reviews, audience voting and award recognition.  I am also including a second table that looks at all 21 Star Trek/Star Wars movies.

The late great Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spocl appeared in 8 Star Trek movies.

Star Trek Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort Star Trek movies by the Captain of the Enterprise
  • Sort Star Trek movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
  • Sort Star Trek movies by adjusted worldwide box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
  • Sort Star Trek movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each Star Trekmovie received.
  • Sort Star Trek movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

Star Trek movies have grossed 2.40 BILLION when looking at adjusted domestic box office…they grossed  $3.70 BILLION when looking at adjusted worldwide box office.

  1. HI STEVE

    Thanks for that information.

I am not a great All Seeing One like Joel Hirschhorn but I assume it’s safe to guess that you are talking about the 32 year old grandson of the Greg that Flora and I both admire. Bound to be a very talented boy!

Greg is my 2nd favourite actor after Widmark and I believe that Greg may be even Flora’s No 1 However as Wayne said in Rio Bravo”Sure wouldn’t like to live on the difference” of my love for each of those actors though Jimmy Stewart is a close 3rd in my esteem Bet you thought all my faves would be “dry goods” unknown art house actors!

It all moves on as the saying goes. I remember waiting in the Classic foyer in 1956 to get in to see The Ten Commandments and reading a wall synopsis that told me that baby Fraser Clarke Heston was playing the infant Moses in that movie. Fraser now a man of 63 is a multi talented actor, producer, director and writer in films

Not all the children/grand children of my idols have been as successful as Ethan Peck and Fraser Heston though Most tragically Marlon Brando’s son Christian was jailed for shooting the boyfriend of his own half-sister Cheyenne. Christian died young at 49 and Cheyenne Brando hung herself at the age of 25.

PS Ethan’s full tame is Ethan Gregory Peck.

  2. Hey Steve, nice find. Bet that makes grandpa happy. It might be the best news for Trekkies, especially since their last news was losing their Captain Kirk.

I can see Paramount not wanting to pay the Chrises 15 million each to be in the new Trek movie. They are popular but have yet to prove they can carry a movie on their name only. I say give them a nice raise, so they can save face and get the movie done.

    1. Steve: Thanks for this interesting news about Gregory Peck’s grandson Ethan. I have looked up his imdb page before, but I have never seen him in anything. I will have to check this out.
