alexanderwales:

I’m a big fan of wizards-as-programmers, but I think it’s so much better when you lean into programming tropes.

  • A spell the wizard uses to light the group’s campfire has an error somewhere in its depths, and sometimes it doesn’t work at all. The wizard spends a lot of his time trying to track down the exact conditions that cause the failure.
  • The wizard is attempting to create a new spell that marries two older spells together, but while they were both written within the context of Zephyrus the Starweaver’s foundational work, they each used a slightly different version, and untangling the collisions make a short project take months of work.
  • The wizard has grown too comfortable reusing old spells, and in particular, his teleportation spell keeps finding its components rearranged and remixed, its parts copied into a dozen different places in the spellbook. This is overall not actually a problem per se, but the party’s rogue grows a bit concerned when the wizard’s “drying spell” seems to just be a special case of teleportation where you teleport five feet to the left and leave the wetness behind.
  • A wizard is constantly fiddling with his spells, making minor tweaks and changes, getting them easier to cast, with better effects, adding bells and whistles. The “shelter for the night” spell includes a tea kettle that brings itself to a boil at dawn, which the wizard is inordinately pleased with. He reports on efficiency improvements to the indifference of anyone listening.
  • A different wizard immediately forgets all details of his spells after he’s written them. He could not begin to tell you how any of it works, at least not without sitting down for a few hours or days to figure out how he set things up. The point is that it works, and once it does, the wizard can safely stop thinking about it.
  • Wizards enjoy each other’s company, but you must be circumspect about spellwork. Having another wizard look through your spellbook makes you aware of every minor flaw, and you might not be able to answer questions about why a spell was written in a certain way, if you remember at all.
  • Wizards all have their own preferences as far as which scripts they write in, the formatting of their spellbook, its dimensions and material quality, and of course which famous wizards they’ve taken the most foundational knowledge from. The enlightened view is that all approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, but this has never stopped anyone from getting into a protracted argument.
  • Sometimes a wizard will sit down with an ancient tome attempting to find answers to a complicated problem, and finally find someone from across time who was trying to do the same thing, only for the final note to be “nevermind, fixed it”.

Relationship Headcanon - Part III

Previous —> Who kissed whom?

Like I said in the previous part, I imagine Sero being the first in class 1-A to have sex. It was before he even got to UA. The only boy who stole his first kiss as well. He wasn’t really happy about it. When he thinks back to it he doesn’t like the feeling of the boy being his first time. The first time he slept with a girl was actually shortly after. It happened in the summer break right before the first year started. Sero was on a holiday trip with his family and he met a girl there. It was nothing serious and Sero was glad he didn’t catch any feelings this time. Because he tends to catch feelings very fast. They slept together about three to five times and Sero actually learned much. The girl was a few years older than him and had accordingly more experience. Sero was kind of thankful for that experience when he had sex with Ashido the first time. He and Ashido need to admit, it all happened very fast in their relationship. Only a month after they called themselves a couple they slept together for the first time. For Sero it was something different because it wasn’t one sided love and it wasn’t just for the feeling or the experience. Ashido really did like him too and he loved that. He wouldn’t go as far as say that she loved him because she didn’t in that way. She loved him as a friend and she really liked him in a sexual way. And it was the other way around as well. They never said I love you to each other. They did before they were a couple because it was love as friends and they did after they broke up because it was love as friends again. But the time never came, where they would say these three words meant sexually and really more than friends. Sero and Ashido had a lot of sex actually. Probably less than Bakugou and Kirishima but they’d say it was a lot. They tried a lot of things and even if some things were a little bit embarrassing, they never shamed each other. And when they broke up, it was weird at the beginning because both knew things about each other no one else knew. Eventually it didn’t bother them that much anymore. They loved each other, but not in the way they initially thought.
A few years later, there was Kaminari. Sero and Kaminari had sex together. Not often and rather rarely. Neither of them got attached. Besides, Kaminari still had Jiro. They were taking a break during that time. One of many, but Kaminaris heart still belonged to Jiro. Even if he didn’t want to admit it. Sero and Kaminari… It was more of a stress release than really something about longing or experience. Let alone love. But it never changed something.

Sero was the first person Ashido had sex with. Sero was the first real person Ashido saw naked. Actually, she made the first step. They were in his room watching a movie when Ashido just turned it off and faced Sero. She wasn’t hesitant because she knew, Sero wanted it too. They didn’t need to worry about anyone hearing them because Todoroki was with Midoriya and the room below them was empty. At first Ashido was nervous but that changed fast. Most of the time they had sex in Seros room. Actually just because Sero didn’t like Ashidos room as much as she did his. With the boy who was her first kiss, she never had sex with, but they made out a few times.

Todoroki and Midoriya weren’t as fast as Sero and Ashido. They had their first time on Midoriyas birthday, briefly before the summer vacation began. They were a couple for a little more than two months now. They spent the summer vacation together. Todoroki actually could convince his father to give him some money so the boys could rent a house where they could stay. The first kiss was initiated by Midoriya but this time Todoroki made the first step. He wasn’t as shy with Midoriya as he was before so he felt like she should make the first step. He didn’t make a helpless romantic plan like others would do. And he didn’t present himself as a gift for Midoriya. He simply asked him if he wants to do it now, as they were sitting on the floor of his room, talking for hours at that point. Midoriya got bright red and couldn’t answer which is why he just nodded. It started chaotic with both of the boys being rather restrained and clueless not really knowing how to start when Todoroki just whispered Screw it and just did, what he thought was best. And it totally worked. The next time they had sex was not until they were on vacation. It was their time, nobody could disturb them and above all, they could learn what was right for them and what they liked. After the summer vacation they were closer than ever and everyone could see.

Kirishima and Bakugou had sex probably two week after they got together. The tension was there for months now so why not just let it out already, and they had kissed a lot since they decided to call themselves a couple. There wasn’t something like Who made the first step. It just happened. They didn’t say they wanted to do it, they just knew and they just did it. They had their first time at Bakugous place. It was before the incident in Kamino. One must say, their relationship started pretty early in the first year. Both of them never had sex before but both of them knew some things they wanted to try. Both of them aren’t shy in bed. They like to present their bodies and especially Kirishima likes to be naked around Bakugou because he Bakugou told him an awfully lot of times how much he loves Kirishimas body and this gave Kirishima an ernormus ego boost.

Goncharov Lore (“Gonchlore” if you will) Masterpost

Note: this is regarding the lore made up by tumblr collaboratively about a fake Martin Scorsese film. See the post that started it all and fake poster.

  1. Goncharov was released in 1973. It was written by Matteo JWHJ 0715 and directed (?) and/or possibly co-written by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese’s big name helped popularize the film, but as a result JWHJ 0715’s significant contribution is often overlooked
  2. Goncharov was forgotten and was actually difficult to acquire for many years. This may have been due to corporations hoarding rights and access, the actually mafia targeting distribution of the film, other factors, or a combination of these. This led to pirating of the film, which allegedly led to pirating discourse surrounding the film
  3. There are talks of a Goncharov II or remake
  4. Goncharov is a mafia boss in Naples of Russian origin. His wife/fiancée is named Katya, also of Russian origin. Goncharov may or may not have fled Russia, and may or may not have been pursued by someone trying to get him back to Russia, possibly to face legal justice. One such person trying to do this could be Valery Michailov
  5. Valery Michailov in Katya’s sister. He may resent Goncharov due to his relationship with his sister and due to Goncharov being wanted by the Russian government. He is somewhat patriotic, possibly a former government worker or soldier.
  6. Katya’s last name is either Michailova or Goncharova (although possibly with the wrong suffix). Her relationship with Goncharov is strained, tense, and possibly loveless. She ends up betraying him in the end. This is often seen as a subversion on the typical tropes for women in mafia movies.
  7. At some point, Katya is on a bridge with Goncharov. At some point, Katya points a gun at Goncharov. At some point, Katya is injured on a boat/in a boathouse.
  8. Katya is amicable with someone named Sofia, who has brown hair. She also has subtextual homoerotic tension with her
  9. Sofia may be working class/poorer than many of the other characters are.
  10. Goncharov has subtextual homoerotic tension with someone named Andrey. Andrey is Goncharov’s old friend/best friend/nemesis/enemy/competitor. There is at least one instance of one of them trying to kill the other.
  11. Ice pick Joe is played by John Cazale, making this his 6th movie. He has a famous 10 minute scene with Katya, and at some point dies, also possibly at the hands of Katya.
  12. Mario Ambrosini works with Goncharov, possibly as a lackey or number two. At some point in the middle of the story, he betrays Goncharov and Goncharov tells him that he “never wants to see [Mario] again”. It is unclear what happens to him after that. Mario also has a relationship with Andrey that some have described as “fascinating”. It is unclear how.
  13. There is a clock motif in Goncharov, and a general theme regarding “running out of time” before death. There are a few characters who seem at the very least subconsciously aware of the fact that they have little time until their death. The film also deals with the theme of fate, of death and tragedy being and inevitable thing for these characters.
  14. Goncharov dies at the end of the movie, due to someone’s betrayal.
  15. Goncharov (1973) was heavily influenced by the American Cold War propaganda of the time. Some argue that it plays right into the stereotypes of Russians, others say it is a clever subversion of the propaganda and stereotypes of the time.

so i played GRIS this month and since i am still highly obsessed with SU with no sign of stopping, i imagined a mash between these two things. i interpreted the game like building yourself back up from sth awful, and the shape and color language reminded me of Steven Universe, so i wanted to think about that a little in art form. not to mention the game is gorgeous and i wanted to try my hand at using that style for SU fanart. the style evolved little by little as i kept drawing these :3

Ok so this is another idea that just wouldn’t leave my head until I created it… So here’s another Baku family comic! This time about anger management.

I’d imagine this is a technique Mitsuki has taught herself and is now passing on to Katsuki who will no doubt keep using it throughout his life. You’ll find him out in a forest or on his balcony at age 30 just screaming his lungs out to let off some steam.
