Hello! My name is R, and welcome to:

The Legendverse

The Legendverse is a Pokemon au featuring my ocs that follows the concept of Legendary Pokemon being slightly more involved with the main events of the pokemon games than they lead on. Before getting into the specifics of that, let’s get into-

The Timeline

The Legendverse follows a semi linear timeline of events, and it’s ever expanding with the new Pokemon games that are coming out. Here’s what the timeline looks so far:

PLA: 1868 -1872

FRLG/Emerald: 2005

HGSS/Platinum: 2008

BW: 2012

B2W2: 2014

XY: 2015

SM: 2016

USUM: 2018

SWSH: 2020

SV: 2025

Some things to note: USUM is treated as a sequel in this au. I don’t really have a clear idea of what the plot is going to be but it is going to involve the Ultra Recon Squad and Ultra Necrozma. Secondly, PLA and the time between SM and SWSH are connected. As in Ingo and an oc of mine gets isekaied to Hisui during SM and come back sometime after the main plot of SWSH. 4 years in Hisui years, 4 years in modern times. Finally, SV will be added, but given how the games haven’t been released yet,I cannot make a fair judgment onto where in the timeline this takes place. For personal reasons I hope it would make sense for it to be some time after SwSh, but we will see.

With the timeline explained, now we can get into the meat of the Legendverse:

Legendaries and The Chosens

Do any of your protags (or rivals lol) have like fears of natural disasters (ESPECIALLY after the shit they go through lmao)

I’ve recently decided that Luca has a fear of storms after what he went through during the darkest day. Naomi and Hop fair better overall, but I can see stormy days being a bit sourer for them. Not something they fear, like Luca, but it bring back some unpleasant memories of that day.

I’m not fully sure about the hoenn trio though. Jin used to have a fear of water bc of the titan storm that happened during emerald, but i’ve been thinking of scrapping it. I think, because of their powers and legendaries, they aren’t really afraid of natural disasters as one think they would be. Because. Well. They can control them. Amber can stomb on the ground and cause an earthquake within seconds, for example. It’s a scary thought, that they can do such a thing so easily. So maybe that’s what they fear. Not the natural disaster itself but the fact that they have power over it.

Anime-style art in a limited green colour palette reminiscent of old school Game Boy screens. A light-skinned woman with dark curly hair stands central in the image winking and smiling at the viewer. She wears a simple T-shirt and jeans under a heavy-duty apron, and has one hand on her hip while the other hand holds up a bulbous vase with a funky drippy glaze. Behind her to her right is the Fire Type Magmar, holding a paintbrush and turning to look at the viewer. Behind the woman to her left is Poison Type Grimer, happily holding a bucket of water or clay slip above its head. All three are wearing matching bandannas around their heads and matching clay bead bracelets around their ankles or wrists.ALT

A light-skinned white man wearing casual climbing gear sits atop a Graveler, who is happily hunched down low to make room for him. A Tangela sits behind him on the Graveler, extracting two of its vines while "smiling" (with its eyes) at the Trainer who smiles back while he eats a large softboiled egg. Behind them, a Chansey is smiling at something in the distance, holding up a retro flash camera.ALT

A dark-skinned Black woman is perched on top of the serpentine Dragon Type Pokemon Dragonair, holding its head in one hand and patting the head of a large Persian cat Pokemon sitting next to her with the other. Behind them stands the starfish Pokemon Starmie, its central jewel gleaming. The woman is smartly dressed with eye-catching squared-off matching jewellery set with small gemstones. All three of her Pokemon coincidentally feature gemstones in their creature designs; Persian in its forehead, Starmie in its centre, Dragonair on its tail and around its neck.ALT

I've been playing the original Pokemon Green lately and it's made me think about the Pokemon world when there was only 151 Pokemon, and about what kind of trainer stories you could tell sticking to just the first generation...

So we have a ceramicist, whose Magmar ("Raku") helps with firing and whose Grimer ("Slip") concocts the wildest glazes; A boulderer with a Graveler for practice, a Tangela for spotting, and a Chansey for a nice egg when they reach the summit; and a jeweller whose work is inspired by the bewejelled Pokemon she's been raising since she was a child.
