i think I missed what is going on with people talking about Tumblr maybe shutting down!
but uhhh nope not really…… I have my a03 but I don’t use any other accounts for fandom. Maybe I will make a backup account somewhere just in case though! but there’s really not a platform very similar to this.
(I wish we could all just migrate to dreamwidth and have dreamwidth be magically active like livejournal used to be back in the day!)
Love your puppet scaramouche fic, love the idea of repairing a forgotten robot or puppet only for it to become attached to you as they see you as a savior so it definitely scratched that itch
I’m glad you liked it! I really like that idea too, something broken and not entirely whole–too empty, too useless–becoming attached to someone who fixes them… too attached… wanting to dig their own strings into you, under your skin, keeping you there forever. Very nice.

Which one of your seasonal spirits is the best at aftercare?
Rowan (Autumn) for sure is the best. He’s the most considerate, thoughtful, he wouldn’t dream of ignoring or neglecting aftercare when needed.
Winter (who… has no proper name, maybe one day, lol) might do some aftercare, but it can be rather self-serving. Probably doesn’t do it every time.
Spring kinda forgets about it… he’s easily pulled into something else. he might not see the big deal if he doesn’t do it, if you happened to bring it up.
Summer (also no proper name, unless i’ve forgotten it) is probably okay at it. But he also has an attitude of it not being a big deal if forgotten or half-done, because tomorrow is another day, another adventure, something else to see and do, why harp on something lik ethat?
I had a dream last night where I went on an adventure vacation to some island, but there was a storm and my boat & everything got damaged. I walked further into the island looking for help, but there was only one person on the street, who, when I asked for help, pointed to this large brick mansion and said: “Go there. They’ll help you.”
So I walked in and said “Hello??” and who walks up but Warlock as played by Julian Sands–
and his wife, whose appearance I can’t really remember. They were very nice, but he was exasperated: “Let me guess, they told you I would help you? Everyone’s always volunteering me” etc etc.
And I was clearly like… injured from this storm so at one point I fell half-asleep against the wall while he and his wife were debating on if they would let me stay.
And as this is going on, I heard him say, “Well, we haven’t had a new one in quite a while…”
And gradually became aware that they intended to kidnap me and keep me as some sort of toy. When I woke up fully, they presented me with a “contract” agreeing that I would be their toy and they could do whatever they wanted with me.
As I’m looking at it, and wondering how the heck to get out of the situation, he was gently explaining that they intended to treat me as gently and fairly as they could, as long as I behaved and signed the contract.
So I said “What if I don’t sign it?”
And he said, with a smile, “We will treat you as gently and fairly as we can…” And I basically realized that it didn’t matter if I signed it.
So I signed it, because at least he might be happy I was behaving.
Then it transitioned into me being allowed to go to the emergency hospital to fix my injured shoulder, but the hospital was in such an awful state that the other patients said I’d be safer going home than getting treated, so I did… then I woke up
Anyway gonna be thinking about Warlock from that movie for a while today.
Arguably this was a nicer dream about him than the one where he ripped off my skin. Even if that one was more in character.
