And thank you very much for your message, although this animation took me a lot of time (5 months ^^’), I had a lot of fun creating it.

This passage quoted by Dora dolores dei in Harry’s dream is one of my favorites in Disco Elysium and I really wanted to do something with it because although it was a moment of joy, tenderness and hope as mentioned in the game, I think that it is from this moment when Harry receives this letter from Dora that this life, where (almost) everything was going well with a girlfriend, a stable job as a gym teacher, friends…, will change in a tragic way.

This letter full of love and praise which is indeed very important for Harry is also (in my opinion) what pushed this psychologically unstable character to become “someone better”, to want to make himself more useful, to engage in a profession for which he was not ready and thus begin his long descent into hell full of addictions, terror and depression.

This is why this passage is both very tender and cute but also very sad when you know what is going to happen. Maybe the next day at his high school, Harry will come across a recruitment leaflet for the RCM and he will think a looooot about it…

In any case, thank you for liking my animation. I just hope that one day, after the events in Martinaise, this sad, unpredictable and endearing animal that is Harrier du Bois will be happy again in his life.
