Yamaura Eiji was an anime producer and planner. He was one of the seven people from Mushi Production's production department who established Sunrise Studio in 1972. Subsequently, when the company changed its trade name to Sunrise Ltd. in June, 1987 he became the studio's third president.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, when Sunrise began producing original works, Yamaura used the pen name Yatate Hajime which eventually became a collective pseudonym for the company's planning department. Aoki Ryuusei SPT Layzner's protagonist Albatro Null Eiji Asuka is named after him.
