I love old union songs because it’s like this fucking asshole was a scab so we fucking threw him in the river and he broke his spine and when he went to heaven he was scabbing on the angels so they fired him down to heaven and the devil was like you have to work in hell for being a dirty scab

I’m not joking, this is an actual song

The modern Union could never make a song this good

Don’t forget to call or email your senators and tell them to vote NO on the SAVE Act. It’s being voted on TOMORROW, but it’s not too late to put the pressure on.

For those of you unaware, the SAVE Act is aimed at disenfranchising trans people and women. It seeks to deny the right to vote from anyone whose birth name doesn’t match what’s on their ID. So it will also affect anyone who’s changed their name for any reason, including to escape abuse, because they were adopted, etc.

reblog to give your headache to elon musk instead

I’d just like to point out the growth in this post has mostly coincided with elon’s public spiral downward and I’d like to think we’re all a small part of that

bro can’t think because he’s just got a rager of a migraine 24/7

yes I would like to give elon musk my menstrual pain. I think he deserves it

Reblog to also give Elon Musk your menstrual pain.

Just a reminder in case you’re ever looking to back up your blog try this method first before you do something silly like scrape the thing yourself or put your password into a third-party tool without verifying what it really does

I’ve been running the export process since early this morning, it’s currently 3 pm in my time zone, and it STILL says “backup processing.” Is that normal?

Bear in mind I’ve been an active user for the past 2.5 years, so there’s probably a LOT to export. But how many hours is it expected to take, typically? I’d kind of like to use my laptop for some other tasks at some point in the not so distant future. If it’s been more than 24 hours, should I give up and start again?

Thanks in advance, to any of my mutuals who’ve exported their blog already and have any tips about the process.

The official export process will be slowed by both the amount of posts on your blog and by how many people requesting exports. It can take a while

Thanks. By “a while”, are we talking more than 24 hours?

Incidentally, I stopped running the export at about 3:30 pm today, but now Tumblr Account Settings is being weird. The option near the bottom of the page to export my blog has now completely disappeared. Instead it just says “Active Sessions”. I was probably too impatient, and didn’t give it enough time to finish the backup.

I’m just about to Message Tumblr Support about the disappeared export option, but I’m sure they’re very busy. Does anybody else know? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it may take days. And no, you shouldn’t stop it. You can close the page after clicking the button they will email you when it’s ready.

Happy birthday, Leila Khaled! (April 9, 1944)

A celebrated fighter in the cause of Palestinian liberation, Leila Khaled was born in Haifa and became a refugee at four years old, as her family was expelled from their home and forced to flee to Lebanon as a result of the Nakba. At 15, Khaled became involved in the liberation struggle, joining the Arab Nationalist Movement, which would later become the Marxist-Leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Khaled became well-known after a series of plane hijackings in 1969 and 1970. She was captured, but released in exchange for prisoners held by the PFLP. She has since retired as an active militant but continues to advocate for the liberation of her people.

IF YOU ARE IN NC AND YOU VOTED, CHECK IF YOUR NAME IS ON THIS LIST.

The North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 decision that over 60,000 votes cast in last year’s closely contested state Supreme Court race must be verified and recounted. The ruling comes after Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin, who lost the race, challenged the eligibility of tens of thousands of 2024 voters. Those voters will now have 15 days to verify their eligibility, potentially changing the outcome of the election. Check your name here: https://thegriffinlist.com

Ruling made April 4th, 2025. This is current.
