Friend isn't having such a great time with the seasonal allergies for some strange reason.

Do you ever wonder what on earth possesses people like this?

Like, to be clear, I do not mean that as an insult. I mean this woman put together like at least three completely different, unrelated forms of craftwork, all three of which require significant amounts of time to master, and went "yeah I'm just gonna throw these in a blender now" and then this came out. Like. You understand how insane it is to do just mirrorwork? To do just color-tinting? To do just bas-relief sculpture? And none of that touches on the preparatory sketching or the finishing resin or the glitter.

Like. I want to know how this woman thinks. How did she come up with this. What made her want to do this. Where she got this idea. I can't imagine being able to think in enough dimensions to do this successfully with a shape as simple as an apple, much less fur or feathers or all those tiny flower ruffles. Hell, I can't imagine being able to think in enough dimensions to do it unsuccessfully.

I received, admittedly for the price listed, a 25 POUND BAG of carrots.

what i've been up to the past 20 minutes

A very good friend of mine had a very scary thing pop up with her kitty recently. He's suffering from crystals in his urine and has needed some expensive veterinary intervention. While he hasn't been sent for surgery, he's also not out of the woods while we wait for his perscription food to begin fixing his body chemistry and he may need more care at any moment.

[Text ID: Genya recalls people's surprise at their choice of coming to Israel. "The man at the Jewish Agency told us, 'Why did you come? There is no food here.' A day after we arrived to Pardes Katz, I took the bus to visit a friend in Tel Aviv. A young man sat next to me. He was very nice, we talked and he asked, 'Why did you come?'"

Genya visited Tel Aviv because she was adamant to leave the ma'abara. "In the Jewish Agency they told us there is a house of Arabs who left: you have nothing to worry about, no one lives there."

They arrived in Jaffa. "We opened [the gate] and I was shocked, it reminded me how we were made to leave, everything abandoned. The plates on the table. It was scary. We didn't get into the house." She turned around, with Henryk, and gave back the key.

"Why did you do it?" I asked.

"Why we didn't get into it," Henryk stated rather than asked. "The Germans kicked us into the ghetto, and [now] they wanted to give us a house of Arabs who left, food on the table. They did to us the same thing."

"It was something instinctive," said Genya quietly but firmly. "I don't want to live [in a house] of people who were thrown out. For me a human being is a human being."
