New snitch line just dropped for reporting clinics that support gender affirming care: www.hhs.gov/protect-kids/index.html

It requires a ā€œfirst nameā€, ā€œlast nameā€, and ā€œcell phone numberā€ as contact information but does no verification. Theoretically anyone could type fake info in there, which would be terrible. Presumably your IP address & browser cookies are tracked.

Please do NOT spam this site via your VPN with realistic but false leads, made up clinics, and the names of fictitious healthcare providers like Dr. Frank N Furter or Gregory House, MD.

Doing this in the past has led to the sites becoming overwhelmed & shut down! It is imperative that you spread the word to prevent this resource from being overloaded.

I’ve ranted in the tags of this post before but I just want to show off the most radicalizing display of how evil golf courses are I’ve ever seen!! This is in Tucson, Arizona. One of the biggest public parks in town, which contains baseball fields and a rose garden and a public pool and the ENTIRE zoo is HALF THE SIZE OF THE GOLF COURSE NEXT DOOR. Ignoring the fact that we live in a Fucking Desert and are constantly being reminded by the government to conserve water while this fucking MONSTROCITY is allowed to exist, I just cannot get over how goddamn evil it is that the people in this city are given one half the space the golf course is.

And the park is crowded, btw!! There are ALWAYS hundreds of people there having birthday parties and taking quinceaƱera and prom photos, the zoo is really popular, Tucson Pride usually sets up at the park, and there’s an outdoor amphitheater and a baseball field and a huge dog park and several playgrounds and two beautiful ponds, but nah rather than prioritize all that a golf course that probably sees a fraction of the traffic is allowed to take up SO MUCH SPACE. And actually, recently the Tucson Zoo wanted to expand–which is understandable, it’s a VERY small zoo–but rather than try to target the golf course the city almost decided to give like a fourth of THE PARK to them because we should just fuck over the thousands of people who use this beloved public space daily rather than for a single second consider that the golf course is a fucking unethical waste of space and water that should not be allowed to exist.

Golf is a fucking plague and I would do anything to see this space converted into anything else. It’s so big you could expand the park, the zoo, AND probably build a bunch of affordable housing no problem. But no, sorry the rich fucks in this town have to waste loads of water keeping a bunch of GRASS alive in the SONORAN DESERT so they can fuck around all day while the rest of us have to be happy with what space we’re allowed all the while living in fear that the city will just decide to give a bunch of it away.

Fuck golf.

didnt expect to be talking abt starbucks so much after i quit but it just keeps getting worse

Screenshot of the linked articles headline. ā€˜Morally repugnant’: Brazilian workers sue coffee supplier to Starbucks over ā€˜slavery-like conditions’ Brazil has been the world’s leading coffee producer due to the forced labour of enslaved Africans and Afro-Brazilians.ALT

8 human trafficking survivors are suing Starbucks, exposing years of forced labor and child labor. the article starts with the story of a man who was enslaved at age 16 and was just rescued last year. if nothing else has convinced you to boycott, please let this sway you…

it also says the NGO CoffeeWatch is filing a complaint with US Customs and Border Protection attempting to block these corporations from importing coffees produced wholly or in part by slave labor in Brazil.

but this isn’t unique to Starbucks, this is the unspoken truth of many of our goods in the west, relying on the exploitation of people in the global south. i pray all the survivors secure a massive payout, but still.. i cant imagine anything would ever make up for this kind of treatment.

and i know a lot of people read headlines and not necessarily the whole article so I want to highlight a quote from Santos Filho at the end

ā€œTo put an end to this, we need consumers to be aware that every cup of coffee they drink, without questioning its true origin, is financing slave labour in coffee production. It’s no use feeling sympathy for the workers or claiming zero tolerance for such practices if you continue drinking coffee without questioning its source.ā€

wikipedia no longer being anywhere near the top of search results when looking up anything feels eviscerating

#they really said ā€œyou can’t use wiki as an academic source-use our garbage AI that’s even less reliableā€#and you can’t even opt out of it

no but you can FORCE it away. use ublock origin and copy paste the blacklist i made into the filters to be able to remove the bullshit AI overview that google forces. it also removes youtube’s forced ads (at least until they fix it)

you can also use the ublacklist extension and use this blacklist of AI image generation websites to curate your google image results

there are ALWAYS ways around stuff. it’s just a matter of looking into it and asking around
