Oil on canvas; 95.5 x 85.5 cm. Austrian painter. He studied (1880–81) at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna but had to abandon his course because of ill-health. Subsequently he studied privately with the Austrian painter Emil Jakob Schindler (1842–92). From 1888 he exhibited in the Künstlerhaus in Vienna but did not become a member until 1892.
