Clíodhna Irish Mythology Clíodhna was an Irish goddess sometimes depicted as a banshee or even Queen of the Banshees (or Fairies, depending on the translation). However, she was also the goddess of love, perhaps because she was considered the most beautiful woman in the world. Description Done for a contest over at the CelticArt group. The theme was "Clidhna," (pronounced CLEE-na, silly Gaelic.) who in some stories is the Celtic goddess of love and beauty. It is said that she is always surrounded by 3 colorful birds. In some accounts, she plays a role in the story of the Blarney stone (hence the stone-looking background.) Wish me luck in the contest!
