Cornelius Vanderbilt II Residence | 1 West 57th St., New York, NY. The iconic gates were salvaged when the residence was demolished. In 1939, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, donated them to Central Park where they serve as the entrance to the Conservatory Garden. Designed by George B.
