By the time Alucard’s boots hit the cobblestones of London’s streets, the rumors have already been flying for the better part of a year.
This is his own fault, at least in part. He’s dealt with stories of his father’s return for the past three hundred years, all of them so far from the truth that he’s stopped paying them any heed. News still takes time to travel continents even when it comes to vampires, and he’s miles from Europe when a particular incident occurs. He doesn’t hear the first whisper of it until a few weeks after it purportedly happens, and it’s easy to dismiss. Dracula himself appearing in London is one thing. There’s hordes of mortals and immortals alike who claim to see him hiding around every corner, who jump at a too-large shadow or the cry of a seabird, who swear that there are warnings and omens of the King of Vampires rising to power again. It’s enough to ruffle some feathers, usually, to disrupt whatever new evils are trying to rise in his place.

Alucard follows the rumors of Dracula's return to a lovely but unassuming manor house in London, and finds the last descendant of the Belmont clan there, too.

Mumbo seems to be rather pathetic. He was always like this. His parents probably never wanted to raise such a loser like him.
He have always thought that he would continue being inside this infinite loop hole of suffering from the gut-wrenching despair that had a fallen upon him. If the whole world collapsed, he'll probably be the first one to die. He was so unlucky with life.
Unless you count him suddenly getting bombarded with love after spawning in a world called Lifesteal by a villain lucky, then you'll agree with my point.
This is the tale of how a person who has no will to live and a murderous, deadly villain fell in love with each other. And of course, things always go wrong in those kind of situation.
