Will Graham is a local dog sitter and the most recent victim of the aforementioned ripper. Only, he managed to make it out alive. The FBI sends him to a trusted professional to see if they can get any useful information from his experience.

Hannibal straightens up and takes a step back when Alana leans in too close. He keeps himself from barking his teeth and snarling at the Beta. Perhaps in another life they could have been something but it would never have lasted; Hannibal finds his relationship with Alana amusing but in no way fulfilling as the one he was with Will. Behind her eyes lies no dark forest for him to roam through but a room without windows and a meaningless life where he would wear himself out by pretending to be a man.
“I’m sorry, Alana but I’m-“

There is little of himself to be seen in the boy who clearly takes after his mother. He has her coloring, her soft classical features, even her muted air of melancholy, here more pronounced and freshly shaded by grief. Yet looking closely, is there not something in his bearing that reminds him of Robertus’s solemn, thoughtful gaze? Is that petal-pink, bow-shaped mouth not curiously familiar even without Simonetta’s gracious and warming smile? Even those charming, impossible to hide ears are so like his sister’s that his remaining doubts crumble and lie forgotten, and with them his ability to hold firm to neutral disinterest. “He said that he had a nightmare.” Will began his voice choked, though his face remained stoic. “He saw that there was a monster underneath his bed. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t shout. He wanted to wake Nathaniel up but everything was too dark. He said that he had started to sob and it was then that the monster came out and hugged him. He wasn’t scared anymore.”
A balmy light sparkled in his blue eyes, the red puffiness around it only enhancing the colour. “And what did the monster say?”
Will’s voice, when it came, sounded as if he was hearing himself speak from the top of a mountain while he was at the bottom of the rift.
