After a bad breakup, burnout from his accounting job, and the fallout after the family found out it was Rayne who would inherent the family farm, he decides to move from the big city and drastically change his life.
Despite the amount of fresh air, exercise, picking up a new hobby and smiling more, his depression doesn't magically disappear, leaving him mentally where he started.
When weeks of his ex blowing up his phone, dealing with unresolved grief, toxic positivity and pretending to be the bright person he shows to people pass, a drunk Shane sees through him, and Rayne realises he might have a kindred spirit in the valley after all.Very much a slow burn, slice of life, and hurt/comfort, more focused on the mental health journey of both characters than the romance. Also there will be no smut.

“Is someone dying?” Elliott asked in a monotone, concealing the fact that he was quite glad to have a visitor. “And if so, why did you think I was the best person to call for help? Willy is right there, and he’s far more equipped to handle emergencies like that.”
“No one… dying…” Leah panted. “There’s a-”
“Did you run all the way here from your cabin?” Elliott interrupted. “You look terrible.”
“Yeah, I needed to tell you as soon as I found out-”
“What, did Lewis finally make his relationship with Marnie public? I hope he knows that their ‘secret’ fling is neither secret nor a fling.”
“Will you-” Leah spat, with an irritated huff. She covered Elliott’s mouth with the hand that wasn’t holding herself up on the doorframe, literally shutting him up. “Shush!” She took another few breaths. Elliott’s mouth quirked into a small grin. He quelled his immediate desire to guess something else and let her get the words out.
“There’s a new farmer living on Old Man Allen’s property!” Leah blurted out, her voice a fast continuous stream that was punctuated by a stupid grin. “And he’s hooooooot!”

Struggling to adjust to life outside the lab, she and her friend take on the challenge of rebuilding her grandfather's farm and finding their place in the community.

Faye hasn’t been home in over ten years. A bad day brings to head all of the thoughts and feelings she’s pushed down since the death of her friend. Broken down and burnt out she decides to open her grandfather’s last letter to her. What she finds promises to change her life forever, giving her a second chance at her childhood dream.

Elliott left the city to be able to write where nobody could criticize him. He doesn't need other's approval to do what he loves. He just wishes the people he cared about back in Zuzu could accept that.
Two college graduates left Zuzu City after their plans for the future were derailed. Vera Richards worked for Joja Pharmaceuticals and struggles with coming to terms with the drastic change her life took during college. Babs "Peaches" Roberts moves away from her hometown to find her artistic vision again after working in corporate design for three years.
