“You almost died.” Kimiko signs furiously.
“Maybe I should have, huh?” Frenchie hisses. His head hurts, blood roaring viciously in his ears. It feels like the thing rattling around inside his skull hasn’t been his for a long time. Suddenly he’s untethered in space, hands stilling in his lap.
His voice softens, eyes losing focus. It feels like forever until he’s able to speak again.
“But even that would be too big a mercy, wouldn’t it mon coeur?”

Frenchie is no stranger to life's bullshit curveballs. This one's starting to look like it might be the worst of them all.

Summary
Kimiko understands wanting to numb pain. She knows what it is to long for an escape. And now, after Little Nina, she knows what it is that Frenchie’s trying to escape from.
So, for a day or two, she watches Frenchie drown himself. It feels a little like that film she watched with Annie once. The one with the boy and the girl on the boat that sinks. Kimiko is stuck on the door, floating in the black open sea, watching as Frenchie turns to ice in the water below.
OR: In the aftermath of Little Nina, Frenchie doesn't deal with things very well, and the Boys have to figure out how to save him - and the rest of the world at the same time. A look into Frenchie's character and his background, with an AU take on S3's version of events (and maybe S4 if I'm feeling brave).

It’s almost peaceful, even in the city that never sleeps. Night blankets the buildings, and with it comes the kind of torrential rain that has even the most water savvy rats looking for dry ground. It’s silent in the Milk apartment. Doors triple checked. Windows too. Lights are off save for the one over the stove, just in case Janine needs a drink. M.M. stirs in his sleep, the nearly inaudible sound of a lock clicking pulling him from what sleep he was able to entertain. Eyes open and for a moment, he doesn’t move, just listens. Wet shoes on his floor. Careful, quiet, burglar steps.

Frenchie turns up at the worst times. An unexpected phone call leads to Frenchie having to run some unforeseen errands. As with all things, it all goes to shit rather quickly -

"Wait," Frenchie mumbled against Nina's mouth, planting his hands firmly on her hips so he could put some distance between them. He needed a minute to remember where he was, what she was trying to ask him to do, why he didn't even want to bother saying no. It wasn't that he didn't like sex- under the right circumstances he thought it was a great way to pass some time- but right now Nina's hands were tangled in his hair and her teeth had been nipping painfully at his lips, and he wasn't sure he was thinking straight.
He'd had a few drinks, but then again, so had she. They'd both taken a bump of an unidentified white powder that had been offered to them, and judging by the heavy haze that seemed to smother his brain right now he's fairly certain it was ketamine. Her tongue had tasted like vodka, strong and sweet, and her perfume was infiltrating his nose and making him dizzier than he'd like to admit. He hadn't fought her when she'd pulled him upstairs despite the growing unease he could feel knotting in his stomach, and it was only getting worse the harder she was trying to drag him into bed.
